Finally Joined... Have a road race AND a rally prepared NA second gen
Hello All.
My name is Neil Wright and I live in Ottawa, Ontario Canada.
After being a spectator and volunteer for many years, I decided seven years ago to buy a race car to go road racing. Didn't know anything about RX7's or rotaries, but had the opportunity to buy a rally-prepared 1986 NA... so I did. Didn't know much about rallying either, but have been rallying and road-racing an RX7 ever since. What great cars, fun to drive, fun to work on...handle as good on gravel as they do on pavement!
For a few years I actually rallied and raced the same chassis, but a few years ago caged-up a second chassis, so now one is dedicated to rally and one to road racing.
Check out my website for pics: fourpeaksracing.com.
Look forward to getting more advice and info from the site (been a quite lurker up till now). Focus for this winter is to put both cars on a diet!
Neil

Update:
Regrettably we wrote-off the rally car this season. Hit a tree so hard that we struck the engine block and one of the long bolts busted! Perhaps I shouldn't have removed the stock bumper element.
So, we are going to focus on road racing for a while. Good news is we remain a two-FC race team as I have just bought another fully caged second gen (with no drive train). I'm thinking this one I will drop a V8 into.
