Why all the Hate on the Veilside Kits
Hi. I'm new here.
Been researching rx-7's for about two years now and hope to finally get one early next spring.
I love the stock look with a nice set of 18" Blitz's on it but I can't deny that the Veilside C1 and 2 and Knightsport kits have also caught my eye at one time or another.
I've been reading through this forum and seem to hear alot of 'hate' towards Veilside.
Maybe I'm a bit more flashy than most but to compare the way the Veilside looks on an Rx-7 with the similar kits on a Civis is blasphemy.
Rx-7's look awesome stock. With some kits mods, they look killer. I hate the rear wing but other than that I think some features of the Veilside make for an aggresive ride.
Any thoughts? Again, if I didn't care wha t the more experienced fd'ers thought, I wouldn't post but I need a more intelligent answer than "Veilside" kits look gay. If taste is what it is all about, how can you even make that judgement.
For me or against me. Just post please. I'm interested.

however, Veilside makes very high quality products, and has put out many record-breaking cars in Japan. they are highly respected tuner, but the style of their body kits and wheels are not liked by the majority.

There kits take the factory lines of the car and scribble all over them. There is not a thread of the original look in the Veilside kits. We like the stock look and kits that accentuate the stock body. Veilside must have been looking at another car when they designed that crap. They are too over-the-top for most people. I am one that hates the kit and thikn it looks like a fish. Sorry just my opinion. Scott

this is the only Veilside piece i like, can't really see it too well, but it's the first one i've found...
Veilside C-2 side skirts:
edit: they aren't 'over the top' as mentioned, very subtle IMO... but everything else i've seen that they make (body wise) is too 'attention-wanting', if that puts it into perspective.

Veilside **** is ******* poser crapIm sorry. Get the car and don't worry about bodykits and all that rikki ****. Learn the car ,the engine , the turbo setup , things first or please do me a favor and just get yourself a honda because the great thing about these cars is the speed first, looks second!!

Just like the other guys said...it screws up the beautiful stock lines of the FD! Also, everyone take a look at the pics of silver/gray Veilside kitted FD's, they look like Bass (as in the fish) to me!

ill admit when your FIRST see a veilside kit it looks flashy and your thinking damn that must turn heads and its got a badass feel to it, but that will get old and you start to realized youd ratehr have speed and class. and when you see the other kits out there youll see that its not like veilside is a bad kit its just at the bottom of the list compared to all the other kits out there

steiner's photo shows the skirts better. but like Fd3BOOST said, don't worry about that stuff right away... i would MUCH rather have a sleeper than a show car... (not saying cars with kits have no *****, but that's what youre making people think here akshun, that the first thing you would do is find the most head-turningest kit and throw it on for attention)

Yeah again I agree with both TpCpLaYa and Jimbo. Compared to the other kits out there, I think you can find better ones. There are ones that just aren't so flashy but still go with the lines and just overall complement the car better. And like Jimbo said a lot of people see a 7 with a body kit on it and think oh well it is all show. But it seriously is up to you with what you want to do.

First of all don't worry about what everyone else thinks. Their are guys on here that only care about the performance and then thier are guys who are into the kits and i'd say the c2 kit is definitly not one of the worst kits out their. I haven't added anything to mine yet because I don't like stick one body parts. Had a wings west kit on my accord and **** started to come off. 3m makes good tape but not good enough. Personally i dont think the fd needs side or rear help but the front comes back in to much and i think the c2 front does a nice job of bringing it out while not getting too aggressive. anyway think the kits over because we all like to change our minds about **** after we get it installed. Also if we all had the same kit that would suck.

If you guys want to talk about some kit not going with the stock lines then don't ever buy the c-west. As for veilside, the side skirts and rear apron are the only parts I would ever put on my car. I don't have a kit but I am considering putting one on and haven't made up my mind as to which one. I was thinking Feed front bumper, either veilside or racing beat side skirts and veilside rear apron (I already hav a Racing beat Type II wing). I HAVE learned my car, done many performance mods and when I repaint the 7 this winter I will most likely have to make the decision to keep it classy or make it flashy.

I personally do not enjoy the look of the Veilside kits, but it does sound like that at least do some engineering in their designs.

Here's what I'm saying: [Hypothetically now] if there were two cars, each IDENTICAL except for body design.. I mean everything identical: weight, power, aero c/d, handling, suspension, price.. One looked like a 1982 Dodge Colt RS, and the other an FD, you'd probably pick the FD. Hence, appearance is deciding factor when purchasing an FD.

Drudge Kolt
Looks just like a Colt
Peforms like an FD
Dazma Arex-7
Looks just like an FD
Performs like a Colt
See what I mean? For me, performance is the deciding factor. I love the looks of the FD, but it a bonus rather than the deciding factor for me.
