What stock color is best for a FD?
I would like everyone's opinion on what color is the best for the fd. Please include the pros and cons of each. Heres all I can think of now.
Vintage Red- pros Looks nice, looks fast, very easy to keep clean, cons attracts attention where you don't want it, ie cops, also very common
Silverstone Metallic-Looks nice, really shows off those curves, gives it a more exotic look, extrememly easy to keep clean. Cons- makes it look more like a miata at certain angles
CYM-Rare, beautiful, cons-attracts attention like red
Black-unoticable, looks moer aggressive, cons less noticable and hard to keep clean , swirl marks, dust on car 5 minutes after you wash it.
Montego Blue-Nice color, looks very good at certain angles cons-some lighted areas make it look not so good.

Hmmm... you forgot about Chaste White. I'm sad now
White- easiest to keep clean, flaws are not seen as easy, no swirl marks, shows off the curves.
Leave out anything???

really, the white on a rx7 is easy to keep clean? my dads porsche is pearl white...we claybar it and 3 days later that car comes back black lol...i thought he got a new paintjob..he had all these little specks that you cant wash out but u have to either buff it out or claybar it out. ..ps sorry i forgot about white but white looks really nice ...more jdm appeal for some reason.

If I had to repaint mine a different color, I think I'd go with the Titanium j-spec color.

Although I have a VR, I would much rather have a Black or Silver FD given the choice.
I like White and Yellow, however I would never own one of those colors myself. For me, they are nice to look at, but I wouldn't want it myself. Montego Blue? Not bad. However when it gets faded, it's not the best looking color on the planet.
My choices would be:
1. Black
2. Silver or Red
4. Montego Blue
10. White or Yellow
IMO, owning an FD in any color is a good thing.

PROS
black - agressive yet subtle... lurking in the dark
silver - expensive looking and clean
red - looks great on any sports car
blue - um...
white - um...
yellow - looks great on any sports car
CONS:
black - impossible to clean
silver - um...
red - too many cars
blue - too many problems
while - fades in... dirty
yellow - so fuggin expensive!

I like VR. I was pretty close to getting a white FD. Since that color is pretty rare. But the dealer wanted 15k firm for one w/ 92k miles on it. Yeeeeah riiiiiiiiight....

I had a silver in primo condition a while back. I thought that was the shiznit when I had it. Yes it IS an awesome, classy color. At the time, I never cared for Red, because I only saw (mostly) pictures of red FDs.
However, after seeing my newer red FD for the first time I fell in love with it. It's got a "glowing" quality in direct light due to the yellow base coat that pictures don't capture at all. If you keep it shiny, it shows off the FD's curves off pretty well. I have to say red gets more attention, some bad (cops) but mostly good... I seem to get cut off much less now. Or at least people are more likely to see me in their mirrors and will at least signal while they're cutting me off.
But hell, FD's look damn good in any damn color!

my 2 choices are yellow and black. they're both real sexy in their own ways. i personally don't like red cars, its just to over done.
my choice in this order:
1. Brilliant Black
2. Competition Yellow
3. Montego Blue
4. Silver Stone
5. Vintage Red
6. Pearl and Chaste White

Top 2 choice for me right now
1. the 99 spec blue (Is it Motego BLue?)
2. Brilliant Black (Black Looks good on any JDM car)
Had a white nissan! Impossible to keep it clean
Especially after running Interstate High way, It is so hard to get all the bug out!!

Mine's black
i have black and I love it. very aggressive. Just too hard to keep clean and it is starting to look old with the swirl marks etc.
I am planning to repaint it in January with S2000 Silverstone Metallic (nh-630M).
Does anyone haver any pics of it so I can see how it will look :-)

My opinion..
1- IBM
2- Titanium Grey Metallic
3- Brilliant Black
4- Snow White Pearl Mica
5- CYM
Everything else after that is tied for 6th I guess..
