What kind of gauges and how many are you using?

I just wanted to get some kind of idea as to what kind of gauges everyone is using for their cars. Everyone should chime in and answer the following:
What kind of gauges are you using?
What size?
How many total?
Where are you installing them?
Would you recomend these to another?

Also, what are some of the "peak values" you've seen on your gauges?

Personally I have:
Defi link at center speaker location(all in 52mm)
-Fuel P.
-Exhaust T.
-Boost

Autometer on A-pillar in 2-1/16"
-A/F meter
-Water temp (12' lead)

I had a an Autometer boost but it always showed 1# of boost at rest, that bugged the hell out of me. Plus I checked the vacuum side of it with a mity-vac and was almost 2 hkg's off. The defi unit confirms with the mity-vac. I would definitely recommend the Defi units to anyone. While the Autometers have a great variety and decent looks, I suspect their accuracy. The autometers are nice in that you can change the backlighting to match the stock lighting on the FD, as for the Defi's, the face, needle and fonts are amost identical to the FD, the backlighting is green, not bad to look at, but doesn't appear stock at night, oh well, still like em'.

sounds like you got a bad autometer boost guage. I have one, and find it to be very accurate (especially for the price). It reads -18 vac at idle, and 10psi at full boost.

I've also got autometer gauges, I got the autometer full sweep boost gauge so every time I turn on the car it sets to zero. Very pricey but I like it. Alright to answering the post, I have autometer carbon fiber gauges: Boost, A/F ratio, Water temp, oil temp. I have the boost and a/f ratio mounted in the tripower center channel speaker pod and the oil and water temp in a autometer dual a pillar pod. When you place the red autometer light cover to change the lighting color it is just about idential to the stock lighting color. I like how carbon fiber looks in the car. But no gauges are perfect, the only gripe I have about them is that it isn't really backlit, the light just kinda shines out the side, so its kinda hard to see the gauge at night. Its still readable but its harder and not very bright. You can probably rig a better light. I would highly reccoment these to anyone.

I have an Autometer Boost and a Cyberdyne Digital water temp gauge.
The Autometer reads dead on, but I had the way the lighting is at night.
I'm looking into gettting some Ormni (sp?) gagues that will match the stock gauges and lighting.
I'm going to have Boost.
EGT.
Water Temp.
Oil Temp.
Fuel Pressure and Oil Pressure, when all is said and done.

52 mm HKS EGT

both on apillar... i have canadian version of FC so no stupid belts.

then get

The rest will be VDO 2 1/16 inch gauges
water temp and oil pressure where the stereo is... i have an aftermarket deck mounted on the bottom... (yes i know i cna't put in a cd when shifter is in 3rd) but i don't change CDs every 5 mins

if i can fit another gauge i'd do fuel pressure as well

Has anyone ever attempted to change the backlighting on the Defi Link gauges? Man, if the backlighting was orange these things would be a perfect fit! Hey, how about changing the backlighting on the stock gauges to green? Hmm, if I could get use to green that might be an option.

Why don't you just get the DEFi D gauges, they are electronic, but stand alone w/o the control unit AND they are amber...

Frank,
Right now, I'm running the DEFi BF Series gauges... They are 60mm, whitish/bluish backlit, with Control Unit II.

Right now I have 2 Turbo and Fuel Press and will eventually have 4 or 6 gauges total depending on if I get the DEFi Link Display (displays Water and Oil Temps).
2 of my gauges will be mounted in the Border Gauge pod (Mickey Mouse Gauge Pod) and the other 2 will be mounted where the A/C controls where in the radio panel.

If I get 2 more meters and decide not to go w/ the DEFi Link Display, I might put the other 2 where my center console is.... Depending if the one YOU sell fits and is available for 2 60mm gauges.

I used to have the first DEFi Link gauges and was very impressed and now even more happier with the NEW BF series gauges. I would highly.. highly recommend these gauges. I've heard horror stories with other gauges but none about the DEFi at this point.

Here is a pic of my panel and Border gauge pod... It's pretty much finished, but I have taken any pics yet....

Lemme know about the gauge pod you are selling, I'm looking for the center channel one that holds 2 gauges.

Thanks

Yep.. that's the DEFi Link Display...

but it only shows Oil/Water Temp... I think you need the others... I could be wrong...
