Cool what to do w/ opening in double DIN dash????

I just bought and installed a Clarion DRX7675z CD head unit in my FD. It is single DIN, my FD is a double DIN opening. What should I do with it? Will the APEXi AVC-R boost controller fit? How big is it? That's the one I was planning on anyway. Thanks!

dont know how you would like it but there is a part from saab that fits in there and holds three gauges. Saw it somewhere on this post.

Yes an AVC-R will fit -- but why? You have a PowerFC coming . . .. ????????

Actually, I changed my mind to a Haltech E6K, I just forgot to change my sig. I'm getting the AVC-R because I heard that Haltech doesn't controll boost that well.

Actually I'm the originator of the Saab DIN gauge panel. I've also gotten a hold of one and it works GREAT. The panel will hold three 2 and 1/16 inch gauges in a standard DIN slot. Check out the below images if you're interested. These links should work by Monday morning as I had to change DNS this weekend (damn PPPoE).

I just put AutoMeter A/F meter and water temp gauge into 2 of the slots. I used the Sport Comp (aluminum like rim) and it matches the car very well. I'll post some pictures when I get a chance.

Question

Does anyone know if this setup would work in a FC as well? What was the part number on that again?

Don't you still need a avc-r or boost control kit if you want to run 20+ psi?

Cool

That's why I'm getting an AVC-R in ADDITION to a Power FC. The Power FC has a hard time (so I hear) controlling boost at and above 20psi. When I go single, I'm going to run about 20 or so at the track, so instead of investing $300 in the boost controller for the FC, I'm gonna invest the $500 in the AVC-R. I'm goin' single in a year! Can't wait!

I've seen the John Rolf/Jeff Witzer CYM with AVC + PFC + single turbo and it is awesome. He has the AVC display mounted under an aftermarket stereo with the Commander on a stalk. CF panels throughout. Can you say jet fighter cockpit.

Yes I did ask him about renting out the commander

Exclamation

Here is what I did with my extra DIN opening, not as fancy as the Saab one but not bad for me since I only have 2 gauges and dont plan on getting anymore, plus it cost me nothing since I had some ABS plastic laying around, easy to make too!!! Even put the 2 little holes on each side so I can take it out like the radio. Well it says my pic is too big so go to the link below if you wish to see a pic.

Hey man, unless you are going to provide us with remote access to your C:\ drive then that "link" is useless to us.

summit racing has a 1/2 din plate that holds 1 guage and 2 1/4 din components (i.e. turbo timer)

Well Blitz makes a nice din panel that holds a gauge and turbo timer boost controller etc. Also the Base and R1 Models came with a pocket instead of a double din radio. Thats what I put in when i pulled the bose.
