What Amp would you recommend for me?

What i have:

Pioneer double-DIN

MB-Quart Q series 5.25 mids/tweeters in the ft

Polk 5x7 in the rear ( this is just to fill some rear sound)

Polk 10" woofer

I need ONLY 1 amp that will power all of these.

What do you think of the Pioneer GM-X564. Enough to power everything?

I'm not looking to adding mroe weight then that and need good sound quality as oppsed to the boom boom low rider thing.

I am open to other amp suggestions.

If you are not looking to add much weight why don't you look into the Blaupunkt class T amplifiers. The PA4100 may suite your needs.

OK, I ordered the AMP through www.smilephotovideo.com

It was the pioneer 480W 4 channel amp for $154.00 with shipping included.

Not bad, eh?

Anyone feel they got ripped off at local retail shops?

I would suggest staying away from the Pioneer amps completely...not worth it in my opinion. Try US Acoustics from Crutchfield. I've had one of these amps for 2 years now, works GREAT. I know 2 other people who liked mine so much they bought their own...and don't regret it. The US Acoustics amps are VERY efficients...so they don't heat up as much, so they don't need to be as big and bulky. Just a suggestion.

I have a JL 300/4 right now and am very happy with it. They also make a 5-channel, but it's kind of pricey compared to the others you're looking at. I've also had good luck with MTX stuff and they're reasonably priced.
Let us know how it turns out.

I haven't shopped for 5 channel amps much. Make sure you get one with at least 35 RMS x4 @ 4 ohm. The sub channel should have a min of 100 RMS at 2 ohm. This will give you some good sound. List an amp, and i will tell you if its worth it.

ahhh the blasphemy...........

us acoustics and efficient used in the same sentence
what the Fu#$!!!!!!!!!

you guys should look at stereo equipment the same way you look at auto parts

there is sh#$ everywhere and most of it is cheap *** cr#$.

just because you think an amp is good your perspective is limited to your experiance.

most shops you go into are there to sell you something but there are a few shops out there that have some very qualified experts working for them
they are usually not the biggest shops because they are passionate about thier work and will give ideas on equipment that will work the best for your budget.
stay away from "box stores" you know the ones where you go in and see prebuilt boxes with two subs in them everywhere...
and for you people who buy online and think your saving money.....think again. you are comparing apples to oranges.
