Here's the list I have of people that emailed me:
Vinayp
Darkness
Jason Dawson
Alfonso Farinas
Clement Tien
John English
Zyon13B
Dcrosby
sikopathx
Nuvolari
Then there's anyone on Darkness' list.
Come Monday, I'm going to call VIS again and let them know how many people are interested and talk to them about setting a price, a time, and getting the details on the install. I'll get back to all of you then. Thanks for the strong response. We've made the number's they asked so now its all about working out some details. Keep your fingers crossed.
-Chung
[edit] if you want to get on the list just send me a PM

Budget $2k to do the job right. Parts w/shipping, labor & paint.
WTF you say? read on.......
I have a 99 bumper on my car......here's the actual breakdown.... includes shipping costs
Front bumper skin $720 (Pettit)
Combo lights $360 (corksport) How you gonna wire them up?
Combo light adapter $50 (RX7 Store) or cut up your old harness $0
99 OEM spoiler lip $205 (RX7.com)
Some people have adapted the 93 spoiler lip to the 99 front end, but the ends don't line up & the brake ducts are not located properly.
A couple of points no one has mentioned.....
It not only looks ghetto to see the ground through the oil cooler ducts on the bumper, but all that air is no longer directed where it needs to go. You paid big bucks to get larger opening to increase cooling, use em.
You need to get the lower corner plastic sections that attach to the fender liner & bumper $125 (Mazda motorsports)
The 93 front bumper has dedicated oil cooler shrouds.
R Magic offers fiberglass shrouds that fit the 99 bumper like a glove $200 ( JT Imports)
While the rebar offers little to support the bumper, it does fill a void to shroud the airflow through the radiator opening, along with added crash strength $460 (RX7.com)
brings up another part you need....
Flow divider between the rebar & frame to direct the airflow threw the radiator $32 (Mazda Motorsports)
Last but not least is the lower center section shroud (belly pan?). Yes the stock 93-95 one is usable, but you need to cut off the top half along the front, while keeping the aft end intact with the foam pad under the radiator...
Or just buy the 99 OEM lower center section $120 (Mazda Motorsports)
Paint & prep on bumper & headlight lids, hatch weld & paint for 99 rear spoiler $850 (Local shop)

So is this considered a group buy or just gauging interest in buying the bumper like a normal good? If I'm actually going to get a better deal by buying this now i will be a lot more intersted in the buy.

Thats all fine and dandy for you but....
Front Bumper:
-I already have a 99 spec lip
-I live close to the VIS warehouse (no shipping)
-The 99 spec knockoff bumper lights look identical ($150)
-I know how to splice wires
-I'll figure out the rebar and belly pan.
-Next door neighbor owns a body shop
Wing:
-Don't like wings on FD's, therefore not buying one
Just because something might not seem worth it to you, it might be worth while to someone else.

Jason Dawson = nemsin
I want one with no license plate holder. And yes I will prepay. If we end up short on people maybe we could get a few more from other forums. nopistons etc.

Alright, just got a hold of them and here's the deal. IT costs 250 in fiberglass 350 in polyfiber. The material is strong enough that there will be no flappage in the wind. Those of you interested in the wing, same rules apply, if 15 are interested, they'll make it. As for the deal with the license plate holder, the response seems to be in greater favor of no LP so as of now, it'll have to be without one. Preordering and all that, they're not really concerned. What they tell me is that they need the front bumper to make the mold. If anyone in the area has one that they don't mind donating for a little while, it would probably help alot but that doesn't really seem realistic (if you're reading this, it's likely because you don't already have a 99 spec bumper.) They said that they can try and get one but who knows. As for fitment, as long as the OEM front bumper fits fine, it'll fit beautifully. What I propose is that we chip in and buy an oem front bumper and have it delivered to VIS so they can make the mold and see if we can return it for a refund if possible. If we can also get a lip, they can make that out of polyfiber too. Let me know what you guys think. Sorry if my thoughts are all jumbled but the conversation was kind of all over the place because I was on hold like 12 times and I jotted the notes as it was discussed.

Uh, yes, but we can't buy a mazdaspeed one since it will have the plate on there, we'd have to buy a Pettit Fiberglass one and have the mold made out of that... and I'm not to gung ho on that proposition, that's a copy of a copy ... etc....
I'm also in for a '99 wing... if that materializes... any word on getting them to do the oilcooler duct work as well if we get a set from R-Magic !?

VIS should be able to make a mold with an eliminated plate from the OEM... thats all Pettit did... but i wouldn't woory too much about a copy of a copy, since it'll have a little flex to it, unlike a rigid FG that has no play.
