Veilside seat
Hey whats up guys, i'm looking for a reclining race seat that will fit into my FD. But I don't want to spend over 1000.00. So I've been looking around and I came across this veilside seat. I'm pretty sure it would fit into our FD's becuase Veilside makes it..but I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with it. So it's come down to the veilside or the Bride Euro II. I want something different...so it would be cool to go with the Veilside but I can't find dimensions for either of these seats... If anyone has any info.. please let me know. From my understandings the widest point on the base of the seat must be under 21 inches, and the widest on the shoulder bolsters needs to be under 22 Inches.. Found the veilside for 810.00 USD and the Bride averaging around 850.00. What do you guys think! Thanks!

Your best bet would be to email Veilside and ask for the dimension of the seat:

Don't assume that because it's made by Veilside it will automatically fit. Veilside makes parts for a lot more cars than just RX7's. Don't forget you'll need to figure out how to mount it (i.e. what brackets/rails will work with the seat).

Guessing by now you have the seats, as said above, not all tracks fit correctly and some may need to be modified or even fabricated in order to fit the fd's I'm trying to mount my evo seats and am going to have to weld up a set of tracks.
Also, I'm not sure about the veilside seats, but be careful, a friend of mine had a set of sparco seats (I think) in his fd and it was a bloody mission to get in or out of that car. I needed to use the roll cage to pull out of those seats everytime I was in it, so consider that too. After a day of having to labour in and out like that it gets annoying.
My two cents.

The recliners are nice for a car that you drive a lot and also want something better than stock.
If you have a daily driver AND use it for occassional performance, the recliners are great. The padding is thick, but I think it will "break in" after a while.
The buckets are nice for a more track oriented car. They are actually REALLY cool if you take the padding out. (The padded parts are simply Velcro attached). Rocking your buckets with no cushions is pretty hardcore though. lol.
Personally, I like a full bucket more than a recliner.
