Using an Aftermarket Alarm w/ turbo timer
I know this has been discussed before and there are a couple related threads but I needed to get this clear. The only way to get an aftermarket alarm to work right with a turbo timer is to have a good installer and have them set up a relay hooked to the ignition wire from the steering column? Or is there any other more simple way to connect it with out another relay?
I'm having my alarm installed right now at Best Buy and they have already fried one lock actuator and they stripped the gears off of the other one. Its really beginning to get to me and its making me incredibly nervous. At this point I really wish that I had the time and patience to deal with electrical things. Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You need a Haltech ECU .....
Relay is the only general way to do it. I'm sorry, but you should never go do BB for alarm install. Go to a mom and pop shop .... they do a much better job.

I know generally... that assumption is right. And generally... I would have done such a thing as go to a mom and pop shop. I am having BB install my alarm because of a few good recommendations and the fact that is is hella expensive at other places i researched.

Well, i figured it out... and I'll tell you what it is just for all of those people that may run across this thread later on when having a similar problem. There are 3 main wires coming from the turbo timer... these are not the ones to look at (I think they are red,yellow, and blue for the Greddy Timer). Then there is a brown one for the e-brake, a purple one for the speed sensor on the ecu, and a completely empty white one that is used for J-spec ECU's. You want to wire a relay in between this white wire and the alarm arming input (dont recall exactly what this input's name is, but its the input that tells the alarm its ok to arm the alarm). Thats basically it. feel free to pm with any questions later.

I've posted before and you can read in other post the how and why it works, but here is the low down.
Bosch relay
-----------------------
86 -> TurboTimer blue (IGN2)
85 -> Ground
30 -> IGN (coil side) & TurboTimer green (IGN1)
87a -> Alarm ign wire
The turbotimer blue and green wires are interchangable.
