Success with 6.5 inch subs in bose wave?
Has anyone tried to use an aftermarket amp wired to two aftermarket 6.5 inch subs using the bose wave tube?
I was wondering if this is an option since I am not really keen on the way my bose subs sound, they are weak. I just want a little more bass, but not too much. I don't want to put in an aftermarket sub either (I could if I wanted to, I have two MTX subs and an amp sitting in my garage in a box) but I don't want to spend the $$ to replace the rear carpet and the rear hatch cover as well. Seems like an expensive waste.
Anyone have any insight on this or tried it personally? Some have said using aftermarket drivers in the bose wave tube will sound horrible because the tube was designed for the bose drivers, but I still believe that so long as you keep the power on aftermarket subs low enough it will sound just fine.
Thanks

If I remember right, those are 1ohm each. If you have a 2ohm stable amp, you could run them in series to one channel. But you'll have to invert the polarity on one since they fire towards each other. That mean hook up either the positives or negative together in series. Give it a shot.
