Stereo guys, any advice?

My current system is a simple 3-channel setup in an FD

L and R door components (3-ohm Boston Acoustics Pro), and a sub (RF HE10). I used to have it powered by an Eclipse 36401, with the back channels bridged to the (4-ohm) sub, and run the amp in "3-channel" mode. Well with this setup everything worked fine, but the bass was overpowering the components (understandable - twice the wattage)

So I go today to buy a new class-d Mono Sub amp (Alpine MRP-m350) I figured I'd run the sub off it, then use the Eclipse 36401 in 2-channel mode, bridged to the left and right door components, effectively doubling the watts they get,(by offloading the sub load to its own amp)

Make sense so far?

Anyways, upon getting my car back, the front channels dont work. When powered on, the (36401) amp power light glows, then shuts off if the speakers are connected in bridged mode/amp is on 2 channel. If I disconnect the speakers, power the amp on, the light glows constantly. If I THEN connect the speakers, it works fine in bridged mode, and sounds great. Upon shutting off the car and turning it back on, the front amp does not "stay" on. The amp works fine in 4- channel and 3-channel mode (3 channel = rear left and right bridged, as I had it connected to the sub).

I guess my question is, does it seem like it could be inadequate power to the eclipse amp? Or bad wiring? I noticed the remote turn on lead is jumped over to the new amp also, but I didnt think this would enter into it, as there is no electrical load on the remote turn on wire. Or could the amp could be bad?

I hate when you take your car into someone, it works fine, then all of sudden after the install, something ELSE doesnt work. The shop immediately tried to sell me a new amp for the fronts. I am a total noob to the audio world, which is why I wound up with the inferior 4/3/2 channel Eclipse amp to start with, instead of a proper 2x1 channel and mono amp setup.

Anyways, if theres anything you guys/gals can see might be causing the problem, or suggest something, I'm all ears.

Thanks for reading.
