Shaving molding
I'm interested in shaving the molding and antenna on my TII before I install my Bomex kit and paint it Ferrari Red, and I was wondering how difficult it is. Thanks.

you can do it yourself if your like me and are cheap. You need to find something to fill most of the space, id suggest shaving some styraphome or something of the sort from say...walmart. and then use filler and glue to keep the stuff in.

I just had my antenna and windsheild sprayers shaved. The autobody shop who did it said the metal in those areas are very thin and prone to warping so they did so real nice fiberglass work. Looks awesome and they fixed a dent on my hood and repainted the areas for $600.

That's the first I have heard of anyone using stryafoam as a filler, most weld in a sheet of metal then glass it in smooth. Or, completely fill it with filler.
I plan on doing this someday using the weld-in metal sheet as a filler.

using filler all the way around the trim gap? sounds like a bad day when it starts falling out because of a kick to the door (or some scenario). way too thick. possibly w/ filler w/ fiberglass if you can get it to seal nice into some holes and whatnot but i wouldnt fill it with filler
