Scoot Hood...Am I crazy?

Scoot Hood...Am I crazy?
I've been debating on my next mod to do...I have alot of things I want. My idea was to get new injectors, FP and MP, but now I am leaning towards the Scoot hood. I saw one on a black car like mine and it looked bad ***.
Will the scoot hood look retarted with the stock bumper?
Anyone know the weight difference between it and stock?
I heared the rotary extreme version does not fit like the original...
whats the best price for the fiberglass?
Any contribution will be great..and oh yea me and Search are like best friends. We met alot of threads about the scoot hood, just want opinions.

I personally dont like it without a bodykit. It will be very overpowering compared to the rest of the car.
At least thats what it looks like in pics I have seen.
The rx7store has them for 1,150 also check rotary extreme.

The car will look ok with the stock bumber and no kit. There was a picture of a non-kit red FD and the Scoot hood, it looked nice.
As far as the fitment, I saw one of the Rotary Extreme Scoot hoods in person and I didn't see any fitment issues at all (of course, it could have just been set up by a really good body shop). From what I heard, the original Scoot hoods are a little challenging getting the fitment to look good so I don't think the replica will be any worse.

Here's a pic of my red FD at sevenstock 5 with the rotaryextreme FG scoot hood. Personally, I think it looks pretty menacing even w/o a bodykit.

Let me ask you...if you don't mind how much did it cost to paint? Did it help your cooling at all? One of the reasons I like this hood is the opening that brings air into the car and it still looks bad ***!
oh and yea..what are those metal ornaments near the lower part of the hood on each side? I am not sure I like them. Does the hood lock the same as stock?

I think a Scoot hood would be amazing on your car. Its also like a reliability mod because it keep her cooler. I say get it, i dont think youll regret it. And youll be able to throw baby ricers down the vents to your monster =)

I think it looks slick. Personally, I'd throw the extra cash out for the CF version for real weight reduction.
I have to agree though, I'd go with performance first. I'm too lazy to look back up and see if you've got your mods listed, but if you've all ready got a pretty nice performance setup, I'd consider it.
Dunno, exterior is defiantely 100% last on my list.

It will not be "perfect" when you get it. More than likely, there will be some gaps on either side following the fender.
It depends on how picky you are... If you get a good body shop to paint the hood and "finish" molding it to your "perfection" then it will cost you a little more.
Chuck did a good job fixing the hoods from the origional, but (some) still needs a little work (IMO).

Just got my Scoot Hood today! Finally after about 2 months. Some minor imperfections in the body but not too bad...CF looks real good...not wavy at all.
Problems I KNEW I was going to have:
Bad fit with M2 CF intake...looks easy enought to mod the hood for fitment.
Bad fit with large SMIC
Looks like my strut bar will hit the hood..some of you guys says it clears it...any tricks to that? If not, any problems with cutting some of that center piece away to give the strut bar more room...have the stock R1 bar.
Opinions? Tips?
Thanks!

I have the stock r1 strut bar and it fits perfect with my FG scoot hood from chuck. Does it hit badly?

RX7 Rage: It doesn't hit badly, but it will definitely be touching it with the hood closed.
I really really liked the RE hood but it wasn't available when I was searching and saving money. Now that its out, its a toss up for that one vs the Scoot.
