i like the lenses also, it seems to complete the headlight. without lenses it seems unfinished.

on the topic of lenses, does anyone have the cwest kit, and know since it bubbles out will it have enough clearance to fit the anubis lights?

the only thing i cant decide is weather i want a mirror finish in the whole housing, body color, or some combination of both. any design ieafs lemme kno.

if i were able to manufacture headlights would there be any interest. below is a rough idea of what they would look like form the front. i plan on using 90mm hellas for the high beam and a projector from another vehicle (not sure which yet) it will be like 2.5-3in lens. i also plan on r8 style leds on the base of the light. also i will probably offer halos at an additional charge. there will be optional strobes as well in the upper part, if strobes are not ordered they will be turn signals.

the lens will be similar to the RE sleek kit, and follow the original lines of the car. however they will not be glued down instead the will be bolted down in the same spot the headlight housing is. i will use sock bolt locations.

this is a labled example

the benefit of this is that a) there will be no glue border, b) and it will be more secure to the car, this means there is no risk of the lens coming off while at high speeds.

lights

The idea and sketch seems on the money. If the finished products looks good and the price is reasonable I'm in.

any other feelings? and as far as price, it will be pretty close to the evo-r kit. and quality is a huge concern for me, i wont doop anybody b/c i have been before, and i was extremely pissed. i will offer a warranty of some kind, not sure what yet, basically i dont want ppl ******* something up and blaming me.

but it will some where between $600-$800, it depends on how much it cost me to make each set. it will come as i said before with several options (w/ or w/o halos) that will change the cost. shipping will be the cost to me of shipping, so no B.S. $150-$200 shipping charges.

the most important thing to me is decent lighting, none of those damn fog lamps.

You should make a prototype first then show lots of detailed pics, if it comes out similar to the drawing you will draw a lot of interest...

thats what i planed on doing. im gunna sculpt it first then ill set the sculpture in my headlight void to demonstrate what it will look like. it will be a little rough, but i will obviously clean it up for the actual prototype.

i merely wanted to know if this was a design i should sculpt or if i should come up with something else. thus far it seems that i will go ahead with this design.

ill get some pics of an earlier very rough sculpture, my current design is kinda based off of my first the first sculpture, which is pretty much a rip off (im not gunna tiptoe around the fact) of the scoot ones. but as i looked more and more, i realized it wasnt quite there for me. so i revised it to somthing i felt i would like every time i saw them. i hope thats everyone else feels.

rather than post useless pics just check out the scoot headlights at the beginning of the thread. they look the same, just rougher, lol.

too many lights in a headlight pod can look odd

just be careful as the anubis lights spark a similarity to:

A long time ago a member made that destinction and it stuck in my head. lol

creepy, accurate, but creepy lol. i plan on using lights smaller than those to avoid the crowded look. also i will stagger the lights instead of stacking them. hope fully it looks cleaner.

granted it looks good and is done well, do u think it will draw a lot of interest, or do you think everyone that would be interested have already purchased another sleek kit, and wouldnt buy it. or is there still enough people out there waiting for the "right one to come" along?

well I already have a light kit. Which after a lot of re-engineering i'm happy with. But that's just me

But there are plenty of others that are waiting for the correct kit, nevermind there are many who are dissatisfied with their current skits as well. IMO if you build a good looking quality product and price it accordingly people will come.
