I just saw metallic red rx-8 and looked pretty good. Since I'm having my FD repainted in about two weeks I took it into consideration. I tried to find some pictures of bright metallic red on FD, but sadly failed. If someone has them, please post them here.

Also, what do you think of metallic red? Probably scratches will be harder to notice and it will be less fade prone, but in the other hand the fresh stock red looks very good, and my paint shop said it will not be prone to fading if they use 2 layers of coloring (second is just transparent). What do you guys think?

That whole car is. Those pics alone made me decide to keep my car red when I do the '99 spec conversion. The original plan was to go with a bright metallic blue (PT Cruiser Turbo-like blue) but that car is so drop dead gorgeous that mine is staying red now.

the 99+ looks the best

 

velocity red is the color you want to paint your car. that color will be availiable on the new mazdaspeed miatas. the velocity red on the rx8 is a bit different i believe because it has metalic flakes in it.

 

the rx8 paint is cool. darker than stock FD red

i might go with the rx8 red on my FD

 

rx8 color is lovely with mica in it, think im going to be going with BMW M3 Imola red when i get mine resprayed

 

Does anybody have the paint CODE for the 99 spec red?
