I have a 85 mazda rx-7 gs (w/power antenae.. broken tho lol). I was looking around for some speakers recently having realized how poor mine are. I was wondering what the best speakers are for the car under a few conditions:

i need two 4" kick panels speakers

and two 6-1/2" pillar speakers

im pretty sure these are the type of speakers i need...

i plan on purchasing a pioneer deh-1400 cd deck, so what would sound best with this deck and this car.

i dont want to spend more than $120.00 for each pair of speakers. i just want to know a good balance between price/performance/compatibility with my current config/car.

any help would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks guys

The hot ticket for the front seems to be Infinity Reference 4"ers.. they're fairly cheap, sound MUCH better than the stockers, better than the upgraded Clarions I yanked out of mine, too... the install very easily. Just use the provided grill and backing plate and it's a direct swap. Total time, probably 20 minutes per side, if you've never done it before. The rears are basically any 6.5" you choose.. most anything will fit.. I've got Polk eX's, but they came with the car. I would have chosen more Inifity References if I had to shell out for 'em myself.
