RE-Amemiya Dry Carbon Fiber Hood AD9
Hiya Fellas, I own a carbon fibre bonnet, and am sourcing an engineering certificate that states it meets crash testing approval. Apparently, some carbon fibre snaps leaving sharp edges and can be dangerous, but some others are ok and not sure if this is one of them. I don't see how this is different to fibreglass but they dont care. To pass testing, I have been told the bonnet needs to be crash tested, and a certificate issued. Anyone heard of these bonnets being tested and a certificate being issued please? I am not sure what the laws are like in the USA, but in Australia they make it impossible to own a nice car unless you have the money for a 500k supercar. Thanks for looking.

the bonnet has never been ADR approved for use in australia
i cant see re-amemiya ever wanting to have their $2-3000 bonnets crash tested for a small market in australia
its alot of work and money to have them adr approved and they arent even made in australia so it wont happen
i have the same bonnet but in FRP.. hafnt been hassled by cops yet *cross fingers*
and keep in mind RE-A puts that stamp on the bonnet "For Race Use Only"
