R-magic light Replica??
why doesent some og the fiberguys on this forum make a replica kit of the amazing R-magic sleek kit, its the best looking one anround, and it looks like it would be really easu to make
someone like shine should be able to do it

Because that would require someone to fork over $2000 to buy the original kit, and if i spent that kind of money I definitely would not want people copying it. Not to mention that brackets and lights would have to be sourced as well, its not that easy. They look great in person but I have a problem with the clear lens which is attached by screws; it looks kind of tacky IMO.

omg, that pic just got me wood
hehehe.
hmm, but if they diddnt make an exact replica, something similar with a more standardised lightsource it shouldnt be that hard to make,
itj just wierd that everyone makes a copy off that assugly c-west light, wich must be alot more complicated to mold,
than just an easy basicly cutt upp stock light cover.
hehehe.

Im up giving $500 for a pair, If we have more people interested in a replica kit we can get a pair and copy it

I hope this kit never gets copied. I think its pathetic when people arent able to fork over the necessary funds to get a quality product. Not to mention its killing the businesses over in Japan with all this knock-off junk floating around.
Just my .02 cents.

With all the R&D that a company does to develop a product cost mucho bucks. That being time, supplies, paying their employees and all of the above. Does it seem fair to them if someone buys their kit and turns around selling it at half the cost..THAT is how businesses go under. Greed.

I think the stuff that should be copied are things that are no longer available like the Run Racing kit (hehe). Apexi single turbo kit (manifold could be copied). What's that company with the 4 rotor? They have a tight HID kit that is only sold on a prepaid basis. In other words, it's not really for sale but they will copy one for you if you are willing to shell out the cash.

i totally agree with you but i still find them ridiculous overpriced for a pair of headlights.. even re-amemiya which is considerred better than r-magic sells their kit for half price. Not that i support the replicas in anyway but when it comes to pair of headlights. once it fits and its nice who cares what it is

honestly, if u want the the R-magic sleek headlight, PAY FOR IT!!!. this is why so many japan company does not want to sale their parts to America.
SO if u want it, Pay for it. if not.. don't kill the market!!!

2155 R-magic
1533 Re-amemiya to be exact
its still a ~700$ difference according to rhdjapan...
I paid more than that for parts but i wouldnt pay that much for a set of headlights
i dont agree with copying parts either but since you cant stop the replica production u might aswell choose the replica that is best made

hahahahahah replica R magic headlights..................
This only confirms the idea that most Rx7 owners are a bunch of cheapasses, and i completely agree with the guys at R magic and why they absolutely hesitate to sell to americans.
$1800 for the headlights
+ Shipping
+ 1000-2000 dollars for the mold.
+ The cost of the replica headlight.
+ The cost of fabbing the brackets, harnesses, and bulbs it comes with and MAKING IT ALL FIT. R magic used 2 particular PIAA Lights that only will fit in the headlight cover that R magic made. Those PIAA lights were made one off for that kit by R Magic's request.
+ The cost of the lexan cover........
...keep trying guys. LOL
won't be getting any support here on that idea from me, and i can get them the cheapest.

i agree that replicating is "stealing" but, one months salory for a sheet of fiberglass?
come on.that prize is insane.
and that is allso the reason we replicate things, the bastards that make the original are to greedy,
if they sold the kit at an reasonable prise, they wouldnt have to worry about replicas.
hmm, it sucks that tere are no good lightkits out there anymore.
i miss RE extreme, their kit was awesome

Rotary Extreme is back now. You can contact them too.
MrVeilsideWankel: A Motec ECU + Harness and all the sensors costs 5000 USD +.
5000 dollars for some plastic, copper, circuitry board, and aluminum. About i dunno.....200 dollars? to make?
You pay for the knowledge behind it and the idea. Business does not exist without profit. A ferrari costs about 60,000 to make (materials cost), but they charge 250,000 for one. What is your idea of a "fair" price on ANY product? Fair to the maker or fair to the customer? If that was the way the world worked...everyone would have chinaman junk for car parts.
If you think the pricing on the R-Magic headlights is unfair, then you don't have to support their shop.
But since cars ARE a luxury, and modifications to a toy item are even more of a LUXURY, you need to get certain priorities straight. These are not parts that in the whole grand scheme of things are THAT expensive, and you can SAVE...money.

yeah, the motec is expensive to,but alt least its a pice of technology.
the light kit is just a pice of fiberglass, and a somewhat cheap lightunits.
so where is the big cost?
i understand that they need to make money, but still,if they prised it a little bit more fair, they would sell alot more,
im not a cheapskate, my car usually gets the good stuff
but im not a rich man,so i like to get as much as possible for my hard earned cash.
thats why i think 2200$ for a set of lights is simply painfull
(and i reeeeally want them)
