Lightbulb Quick BOSE Stereo Advice (should be easy)

Yes, I searched and couldn't come up with what I needed.

I'm thinking I'm going to be selling my car soon, but before that, I want to replace two of my three front speakers. Two of them are completely blown out and don't function anymore. The right-side speaker is working, but not too well.

What sort of drop-in speakers could I replace into there that would give SIMILAR performance to the original BOSE? And isn't each speaker going to need its own mini-amp in the BOSE style?

Would I be better off just entirely re-doing the system?

If you only need to replace the speakers and not the amps, I would just buy some from the classified ads. By the way, I just happen to have all 3 factory boss speakers that I need to get rid of if your interested.

From support@bose.com, this is an option I did not know about. For what it is worth:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Bose Music System in your 1993 Mazda RX-7. We can repair the speaker/amplifier assemblies at a cost of $75.00 each if you can remove them and send them in to us. The timeframe is approximately 3 weeks and we will need your mailing address to forward the paperwork.

Please let me know if you are interested in sending the speaker assemblies to us for repair.

Thank you for Choosing Bose Corporation.

You can't just put any old speaker in there. The Bose system has been very carefully designed around those specific speakers (they are 1 ohm impedance, typical speakers are 4 ohms). Lots of people sell their used Bose systems on the forum or it looks like you can get it fixed for only $75 from Bose.
