Question for Anyone with Bride FG Seat Rails
From what I have heard, the Bride FG rails work well on the FD. However, it looks to me like they are not dual locking. In other words it looks like only one side of the rail locks, which seems to me like it would allow some seat movement? Can anyone who has these rails verify whether or not this is true, and if so whether or not there is any seat movement after it's bolted down?
I'm thinking of getting these rails along with a set of Recaro SPG seats. If anyone used any other rails successfully, please let me know what you used! I'd love to hear from anyone with this setup to verify that it will work.
Thanks!
Michael
PS. Yes I have searched!

it's dual locking; you gotta pull the levers on both sides of the rails, if that's what you mean? and there is no seat movement after it's been locked.
i'm using them w/ my SPGs and i think overall it's OK. maybe it's just my car and my inability to install them properly, but the passenger side rubs the door. the driver side sits fine though. my biggest gripe is that the seat sits higher than the stock seats. i cant use the lowest mounting point for the brackets because of the SPGs design.
quite the height discrepancy (you may think the recaro is just taller but i put my stock seats back for winter :o and i'm definitely sitting lower)
you can kind of see that the passenger side wing is hitting the door
once again how the wing is hitting the door. if you dont put the seatbelt infront of the wing, you'll have to reopen the door to swing it over.
hope this helps your decision (and like i said, it could just be my inabillity to install it properly :o )

Excellent info, thanks!! Yes, that's what I wanted to know, whether both sides of the rails lock. You have the FG's right?
How much higher would you say the seat sits than stock? I'm only 5'8" so it's probably not a big deal, but I already feel like the stock seats sit a little high. And as for the rubbing on the passenger side, it doesn't look like it's anything serious? Does it actually bend the seat or door plastic at all, or is it just barely touching?
How do you like the seats for comfort on long trips etc?
You have great taste by the way, your car looks pretty similar to how I'm setting mine up. Have the same wheels too.
If anyone else has tried other Bride rails that work better, please post up!

yup, they're the FGs, driver & passenger side.
it sits only marginally higher than stock, maybe tops 1-2 inches? all i can say is that i noticed myself dropping a bit more when i put the stock seats back in. like you, i'm 5'8 and with my helmet on, it's still ok (still have headroom to spare, but i have a base model so no sunroof). i'd still prefer a lower seating position though.
as for the passenger side, it left a nice dent mark in the door. i figured if i put some washers between the brackets and seat, it could possibly work so i'll be addressing that issue soon. the seat itself does not bend as it's a fibreglass backing, thus i have a beautiful dent mark on the door foam! (i'd like to reiterate that it may be my car or my inability to install the seats/rails properly as i know others have the same set up and havent complained about rubbing)
as for the comfort of the seats, i drove from vancouver, bc to portland international raceway and never had any comfort issues and that was a 600 mile round trip! (also, for what it's worth, my gf can even fall asleep in them during long trips)
hope this helps, and cant wait to see some pics of your car when it's done.
