Push Button Starter On Shift ****
I was tryna find some new ways to customize my car when i was looking through Motor Trend Magazine and I came across the new Mercedes McLaren.
This car has a push button starter located at the top of the shift ****. I have a few pictures of this and i'm wondering if anyone knows where I can get something like this.

Get some windshield washer LEDs while your at it.

Here are a few sites I've found that carry this shift ****. I wanted to put a push start button in my FC, but I didn't want to lose my 12V cig, so this is a good solution.

I am Mr. Negative tonight. I see no point to this. The S2000 start button is a neat idea, but on top of the shifter? Seems quite lame and takes away from the nice feel of the shifter when shifting.
Oh, and with your windshield LED's you should get some of those colored tires that give the ground colors of yellow, blue or red when you burn out, or maybe those nice valve stem lights.
If I did the S2000 mod, I would make it where I wouldn't have to put the key in the ignition at all. To me that is pointless if you have the button. Instead I would mount a switch somewhere hidden that would enable and disable the ignition so thieves couldn't just start her up.

I agree with Joseph totally. Push button starts are kind of worhtless if you already have to use youre hand, and put the key in, might as well just turn it while your at it. It's cool but IMO it's not worth the work

if you hit the button while shifting would the starter engage? Some of those shift **** have exposed buttons. That could be very not-good.
If you wanted to put fighter-jet buttons on your shift *** why not put something that you actually need to use while you drive, such as temporary high-boost setting (Datalogit will enable this - has connections for a contact swith), NOS control, or even activating your (led-enabled) whishild washers and wipers?

Very gay. What is the point of a button if you also have to turn a key? The SLR has keyless go (you don't have to unlock the doors or turn a key to start it) so the use of a starter button isn't redundant.
Don't forget the SLR is AUTOMATIC. Putting a button on a manual **** is a bad idea. Think about how often you apply pressure to the **** to shift. I see that the button is recessed, but I don't think that's enough to prevent it from ever being hit during a WOT upshift.

Even if you dont tell them were it is located, they can still break into your car and look for the switch if they want to steal your car. Not a good idea in my opinion. Words have a way of slipping out of peoples mouths, and it wont be a very kept secret eventually.

And even if I did use my switch idea and told people about it, they would have to break a window and get in the car setting off the stock alarm and I don't think the stock alarm allows the engine to start with the alarm going off.
Also, I don't have any friends that would steal my car. And I wouldn't post anything to the forum and pull a Brad Barber. And if a friend did steal my car some how, I have insurance.

Years ago, there was a website by this guy with an FC that mounted a paintball gun in one brake duct, and a model rocket in the other duct. It was all rigged through a **** like I posted. Maybe he's on here.
It's not really my style... but sometimes I wish I had the rocket to use on these SoCal roads and freeways.
