Problems with factory bose cd player
I have a stock 93' bose CD player still in my FD... for some reason it will not take CD's... I figured it probably wouldn't play burned CD's, but even when I put in actual CD's it will just take the CD in, then a second later spit it out.
Any ideas?

Sorry I missed this thread. I am big on keeping the stock stereo in my fd.
Lots a people have this happen and I've heard a couple of fixes but none worked for me.
I did find a company that will fix this player. I sent mine in for 8 bucks postage. They called me when they received it and when they were finished. They actually sent me another one just like mine. They also give a year warrenty. And it doesn't skip on bumps which it had always done from the beginning. The catch is it's $185 which includes shipping. Most would say, you can get a new player and be done but like I said before I like the stock look.
Removing the player is fairly easy. There are threads on that also.

I'd keep the factory cd player in the car if it worked, but I don't plan on spending that much money to have the same, stock CD player. I don't have the money for a new unit right now, just thought I'd ask if there was an easy/simple fix to my problem until I can get a new CD player.
Thanks for the input, guys! I appreciate it!

You can try a headcleaner
You can try a headcleaner, or even open it up and try rubbing alcohol on the heads. Seems like when these units go, they really go though.
An affordable fix is to find a late model Mazda radio with CD built in and change both of the original pieces out. Gives you an updated look while staying OEM. Also, if you have the Bose system, you can source a late model Bose that easily matches up. This photo is of our change to I think a 626 radio. Ebay or local salvage yards should have plenty.

I do have a cd player that will fit right in but the lights are green. Has the same plug. I used it 1/2 hour tops. It was brand new 5 months ago. I'll ship it to you for 28 bucks if you like.
Let me know.

As you can see, it is a little different looking but the plug is correct and it fits like the stock player. And it's new looking. Only thing is, the lighting is green. If you look on the back pic, you'll see it was made by the same company that made our cd players. They are long gone now. Let me know if you want it. You have first dibs. Rick
