Pop up or sleek headlights?

I got a good deal from Chuck @ rotaryextreme (Can't comment on exact $$ figure...) strike your own deal with chuck...
And I installed myself, with all the custum painting I did I'd say it was about a 12 Hour Job... cause some things have to dry 1-2 hours before assembly...

Anything that sticks up like a piece of wood, will but they tried to make it as areodynamic as possible.. but it's still worse than something that moves air over the hood like with the stock ones down...

i vote sleek.... though i never would have gotten em if someone wouldn't have stolen my pop-ups..
IMO, the regular only look good with the fee cover, and the only sleek kits i like are the re amemiya and rotary extreme

from a strict performance standpoint, im sure the sleeks save you some weight, and save the great drag Cd of the rx7 during nighttime driving. From a looks standpoint, i love the sleek lights. They make the car look newer and more exotic, imo

I've never seen really clear pictures of the setup / lenses of the sleepy eye'd look you all speak of... All I remember is a bunch of small foglight placed in a row, that can't be good for visibility nor can it be dot legal... not that most care, but I'd hate to explain that one to the cop on the side of the road at Midnite...

legal??? hell, half of the things on most of the FD's in this forum are illegal. "Off road use only" exhausts, turbos, etc..... not many parts ARE legal these days, so do what you want..... i vote pop-ups for looks and sleek for performance, they balance each other to me, so i'm not voting

However, sleek lights have a nicer flow to them, and look more modern. They are both great, but IMO, the knightsports pop-ups are awesome, while the RE lights are great for sleek style. I'd have to judge a car as a whole though, not just the lights.

Well, I voted for the pop-up lights...may be kinda conservative but I think sleek ones destroy the original appearance (although I think I have one of the rare FDs in that forum that still looks original...)

Can anyone with the Rotary Extreme headlight kit send me the part numbers that are on the lenses?
I'm not that unfamiliar with Polyester ,carbon and Lexan myself and shipping it to Belgium will get me a price of plus 1250$ and that way to much for me to have some other head lights.
I'm gonna give it a try to make them myself without having to cut in the chassis.
So I'll need the Hella numbers to order them (Where I work we work closely with Hella so that would not be a problem).
please PM me or mail to speedworks@pandora.be because i rarely have time to cruise the whole forum
Many thanks,
Neal
