Plans for fd exterior. Opinions

I plan on doing this when I get my fd in about a year. From what i figured it'll cost around $11,000 after labor and parts.

Body painted chaste white
ED widebody -http://www.andysautosport.com/mazda/1993_1997_rx/exterior/body_kits/extreme_dimensions/extr00182893.html
Amemiya gt wing - http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/r...0.html?image=0
Amemiya fender mirrors - http://www.rhdjapan.com/re-amemiya-a...y-carbon-23643
Charge speed vented cf hood - http://www.bodykits.com/Charge-Speed...710HCV/624342/
Feed headlight cover - http://www.rx7.com/store/rx7/FDFeedfreshair.html

i'd really love to hear some opinions on this look from anyone. Something to add on? Something that won't look right?

Thanks,
Jeremy

I say try to find a different look.

Your basically asking us to choose your exterior parts for you, i don't like the exterior mods you chose but if you like it do it.

Ha, that bad, huh? What do ya say would look wrong with it? I def want a wider base since I'll be doing hpde... So some kind of widebody or flares I'll need. Suggestions and critism is more than welcome. I just wanna have my plans set for when I get back from Iraq.

Thanks for the reply.

Too extreme ya think? I love the stock body but I wanted a wider base so I chose a widebody. If I could get the wider base with a stock look I'd love to... If anyone know a kit?

If you want widebody the one you chose is at the end of my list but off the top of my head i think the chargespeed widebody and burn out kit with wider flares looks good.

The other exteriors mods are fine with me but just find a different widebody kit.

Heres a link to a lot of widebody kits for the FD.

the wing NO, I can't scream it loud enough, but it looks like absolute ******* garbage.
the rest is ok, but I don't like widebody kits that don't get molded in. checkout the burnout widebody kit just get the fenders and whatever front bumper you want and a rear diffusor, one of the forum vendors here has them, mostly stock appearance, but you can run 12" wide tires in back.

here it is:
https://www.rx7club.com/shineautoproject-161/fd3s-ks-auto-burnout-style-full-aero-kit-now-available-560157/

then get the mazdaspeed/99spec spoiler for adjustable downforce. throw in a decent front lip if it works with your choice of front bumper.

I'm not one to ask about the headlights as I'm torn between pop-ups/non pop-ups, and I prefer the gt300 style hood, but that's all in taste

By the look of that body kit, it seems you should have bought a S14, not a FD.

+1 on the burn out kit definitely one of the more mellow wide kits

Yeah... The body kit was the only thing I wasn't 100% on. Didn't look hard enough for kits.
Right now I'm torn between going with the burnout kit... Or getting either the burnout rear or origin rear mixed with the eurou front fender. http://www.rhdjapan.com/eurou-front-...d3s-rx-7-54883

Just found those front fenders and love 'em. Just gotta figure out which skirts (if any) front bumper and rear diffusor to go with it.

Thanks for the input and helping me find these parts. That's why I love these forums.

the white AND the mirrors. *******************************/rotary_forum/showthread.php?p=104611
He's using the fender mirrors and, IMO, Kai's fd is amazingly beautiful.

The body kit... Yeah, as we've been discussing.

Headlight cover... Seen lots of great looking cars on these forums with that.

Wing... Yeah it probably is ugly to most, I'll admit, but I kinda like it. ^_^

Hood... Also, like the wing, just something I like. Seen it on a couple of FDs... but not too many goin for it. If I change to the eurou front fender I'll probably change the hood as well.

What you have to understand about rx7club, is on average they hate wide bodies & GT wings...So going by a majority vote you will nearly always end up with a stock body FD.
Imo screw what anyone else thinks & do what you prefer

My opinion is:
The Rx-7 is a nice , roundly shaped, small, sexy car.

The bodykit you are looking for is:
simply fat. No nice lines etc.

I don´t like it.
But just my 0.02$

I agree with most here, keep your car clean looking stay away from those mods but if you must then I'd say at least skip the Amemiya fender mirrors as they look ridiculous imo.

Maybe a new front end. That's the extent I'd go with altering the body in a major way. I'm a fan of fender mirrors after a three hour discussion about it last night. Throw a nice suspension and some wheels and roll those fenders. That's all that you need to do.
