Pics of Quad-Guage-Center-Speaker Thingy

quad gauge? What could you possibly need four gauges for? Boost, water temp, oil temp and EGT? This is j/ my opinion, but it might start looking like a 747 with that many gauges that close

Unsure on the specific guages...I'll need a series that has an A/F, so....that probably narrows it. I'll do 52mm all around.
That's the pod I'd get, I wanted to see some pics of it installed and filled.

DAMMIT!!! that looks so nice. i just bought a three guage pod for the pillar, and i personally dont like them there but i didnt know that they made those pods for the center speaker in 3 and 4 guage pods. the only place i saw them was on rx7store.net and it was only a 2 guage pod. So i bought the three guage pod for the pillar cause i want to hold three guages and didnt want to have them in two places. i think i might now get rid of the pillar and buy that, gotta do some thinkin

There isn't a Defi-link A/F. There is a Defi D-series A/F, but it has amber backlighting, the links have green... and they're LED-lit.
The Links don't have any outputs intended for that, unfortunately. Maybe you could hack the sensors & figure out their characteristics, but they may be non-linear. The Links system is digital (internally) so the CPU box may be compensating the non-linear sensor inputs to provide a linear output.

Well, can I hack into the OUTPUT wires? I wouldn't hack sensor wires anyway since i need a voltage input, and sensors are usually based on resistance.
Christian, I have the textured dual, I like it, but I need more guages. Give me a picture of yours and I'll...I dunno, cross my eyes or something.
Ok, how about this, someone pick me out some guages. I have the stock dash guages, and I could go either way with coloration, just something that looks really nice I'd LIKE outputs to AEM, but can live without it. I require an A/F guage.

I know you have that nice video screen set up in your car that would be perfect for the HKS video guage system. Have you seen it? Instead of analog guages, you buy a digital reciever box that has video outs to hook up to your screen.
It is on their site.

I have seen it. To be honest with you, I only run with the video screen out about 10% of the time. Everything is voice controlled and audio feedback anyway, I hardly need it Plus, I don't like the idea of looking that far away from the road, or that intently if the sun is glaring right off it. It also wouldn't interface with my touchscreen, and that would **** me off. I'm going to stick to guages for now. Here's a pic for those in this thread wondering:

The Defi's bezels are formed around the whole assembly, which would make dis(re)assembly a real PITA, if you want to change the LED's. You'd have to ruin the bezel. It's a shame for me, because the Defi A/F would otherwise fit right in with the Links. Dunno about having one amber gauge in the group. If you want matching illum. colors in the Defi brand, you'll have to go with the D-series.
There are no outputs on the Links, unfortunately. ...Unless you count the serial output to the Defi-link gauges themselves, which are digitally controlled stepper-motor units that speak 1's & 0's, but not 0-5V.
...and Franks pod is very solid and well-built. If you dropped it on your bare toe, it would hurt. If the "other" pod (which I've never seen in person) is anything like the Autometer A-pillar pods (which I have in another car), you're in for a BIG surprise.
edit: The Defi A/F gauge isn't wideband, AFAIK...? I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for or not.

Actually, and I don't know if this applies to all lines, but the LED's in the D series are white. If you look at the gauge face behind the needle, you'll see a white glow. So in that respect, I think you'd have to get a whole new face. The good news to that is, as you saw in the pic, it's a dead on match to the stock gauges, if you like that sort of thing.

Hmm... Back when I was looking for gauges, I emailed Defi about switching colors, and I asked if it had LED lighting. They said something blunt and straitforward like "they have LEDs". I wonder if they (or I) were confusing the warning LEDs with the backlighting in the conversation?
[edit: I'll be damned . You're right Railgun, I checked their site. They claim LED backlighting, and "transparent amber gauge dial" (or green, white/clear, depending on model). Strage, I would've guessed the LEDs were colored themselves, as they're much less expensive than white LEDs. ]
I set up a Cobalt A/F (in the center) with the intention of moving to wideband in the future, and whipping up my own 1v-0V --> 0V-5V converter to adapt it. The Cobalt A/F at arm's length has a black face. I was planning on not using the blue LED illumination, since it didn't match the rest of my gauges, but I hooked it up anyway, figuring I'd just cut the wire later. The lighting within the gauge is terribly uneven, unfortunately.
