Talking Pics of my FD being painted

Had to have my custom vented hood modified to get it to close , since the addition of the Gotham oil pan brace AND the XS cast oil pan caused the motor to rise about 3/4"

The hood is in primer , by the way.

Hood doesn't look good with that added modfication. Is the color flat black?

Not quite understanding why you'd need an oil pan brace in addition to the XS oil pan in the first place.

I'm hoping it'll be a lot less noticable after it is painted black. The colour is an original MAZDA Sikkens pearl black . That is the first base coat , it will get four to five more coats and the same number of coats in clear.

I got a fiber glass guy to make it for me , everything is made of the stuff. The painter just chopped out the part that was making contact and redid the fiber glass work.

Its a GT4508R ............... That is easier said than done , even if I loose this hood , anyother wouldn't be able to close without modifications.

the hood looks like a guy who stuffed a sock down his pants. A stock hood with a "scoop" over the offending area would look better.

That's a bargain! All that really matters is that you're happy. I know that you spent a great deal of your budget where it counts-under the hood. I'm envious of your build.

Why did they stop painting? Shouldn't get any contamination on the basecoat....

I like dark graphite colours, should look demonic - very cool.

Did the car used to be red?

coming good so far
