damn, i have an extra tail light sitting on the floor next to me. i said one day i was gonna try to make it led like the new G35, but you beat me to it. i think it would be better if it was solid the whole time then got brighter when braking. or if you still wanna do the halo thing, larger leds or something to make them appear larger like the infiniti.

thank you mills for reminding me of a point i should have made sooner. the pictures were all taken in the middle of the day because at night the leds were blowing out the camera. try looking at your brake lights straight on at night. do you guys really think the stock lights are too dim?

The reason you want to make the halo brighter is because even though they are the same intensity as the stock lights you are still missing the whole area of the circle. Thus producing LESS total light, from a distance it's hard to see.

well its the very first one. within each circle the brightness is perfectly even. but the 2 circles are from 2 different batches of leds manufactured literally years apart. that will never happen again.

the pictures dont really turn out at night. the leds are so bright it ends up looking like a big red spot. there are some daytime closeups if you follow my link at the top of the page.
raziel sure thing. ill pm you my number.

I admire the work that went into these, but I think they're horrible. I don't like how they look, angel eyes/halos should stay on the front lights, and is it just me, or do these tail lights remind you all too much of the altezza lights that ricers put on ALL their cars (along w/ euro lights, which is retarded, since they're usually japanese cars...)

ok i updated the page with some dusk/night pics.

i know one ring is a little brighter than the other. please disregard if you can. they are from 2 different batches of leds which were made over a year apart.

I like that the color is more saturated, but my suspicions are right that the LED sight seems to be lacking something in intensity...
The other thing that would interest me, is the resistance across the bulbs the same (did you add a resistor)
Which is a double edged sword... it takes more battery power, so your battery savings are no more, but it keeps the turn signal from flashing (really fast) like a stobe light... or maybe you just need that on the turn signal leds...
I messed with this on a bulb replacement, and I went back to stock for two reasons... 1 not as bright,(superbrightleds.com my a$$) and 2 I had doubbled my turn signal flash rate... which pissed me off...

You have to compare the amp draw and wattage of all the LEDs to a normal bulb to determine if the drain on the battery is the same. Resistance alone won't answer that.
I = P/E in this case.

the current draw is much lower than the stock bulbs. this only matters for the turn signal but i have modified the flasher unit to compensate. i should post a writeup on how to do that.
superbrightleds.com are super bright but you still need a lot of them to match a lightbulb. i am using the same leds as the G35 and FX45. no drop in replacement will come close.
