There's really no need to go smaller than 350mm unless you are tracking the car. I'm using a 320mm, but it's for the track.

do you think switching from a 330mm to 350mm will make a big enough difference to justify buying a new wheel and trying to sell my old one?

I got the NRG 2.5 quick release and it's been holding up just fine w/ a 350mm steering wheel. I took some pics, but they are at night though.

It's a momo hub that's connecting the car to the quick release. i do have a horn and it works jts fine. u should know that when i got the car (in terrible condition), the horn didn't work and steering wheel was nasty. i brought it over to lucky 7 to get install the hub+quick release+steering wheel. sorry if that doesn't help bro.

If the view of the gauges is bugging you, then yes it will help. I'm contemplating getting a 350mm wheel for use on the street and then using my 320mm for the track.

It will open it up more, after all it is bigger. Now whether that will be enough for you or not you'll just have to see. Maybe you can check around to see if there is someone local with a 350mm wheel you can try.

wonder it that would work in my case... right now it blocks the top portion.. with spacers i would think it would tend to block the middle portion?

for those with the nrg hub/quick release... did u have to modify the plastics around the hub? i have the petit gauge pod thing and had to sand it some so it wouldnt rub...

I am looking for horn wiring instruction for NRG hub, NRG Quick release and Nardi steering wheel to the FD.

1. I wonder how to connect the horn connector from the FD to the NRG short hub,
2. From the front of NRG short hub, i see 2 cables, i believe that i just need to connect it to the 2 cables from the back of the NRG Quick release,
3. then another problem i have is, from the front side of the NRG quick release, i have 2 cables out (yellow and black) but to connect the Nardi horn button, The Nardi horn button only have 1 yellow cable connector. i wonder where do i connect the black cables to?

Thanks

yay thread revival.
hey guys, i'm about to purchase an nrg quick release and mazda connecter hub, and i was hoping for an answer before i waste my money.

basically, i've heard that with the nrg hub, some vehicles that had an airbag would be unable to connect the horn on the new wheel.
point of reference-> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDU3MoxMzYM

someone in this thread said his horn worked afterwards, but i believe he had an fc.
i'm just hoping for a final answer. with an fd, can the horn still work after installing an nrg short hub?

can some one who had the NRG Quick release working with horn give us step by step instruction of how to wire the horn please. every one here just said it work if wire it up right, but no one really explain it though.

my case i got NRG quick release and Nardi deep dish steering wheel setup. I have the quick release and steering wheel installed but can't figure out how to make the horn work.

thanks

What hub are you using? If you hub doesn't have provisions for the horn, you'll need to directly wire it up. I used a Miata Daikei hub adapter and it had provisions for the horn and airbag. I then used the pass-through wires from the NRG quick release for the horn.

sorry for raping that old lady...

But I've got some questions:

Is it possible to keep the steering clock? It's very important for me that the self-deactivation of th eside markers work!

Also, maybe someone can tell me how long a short-hub + quick release is... is hub+quick release + nardi deep cone too close to the driver? I'm about 179cm tall, I like to sit very straight and close to the steering wheel (rally style)

kind regards
Patrick

the clock doesnt deactivate the blinkers, what deactivates it is behind the shroud (maybe it is the clock and im thinking of a different thing) but either way you will retain it.

IMO short hub plus STANDARD size QR AND Deep cone will be wayyyyyyyy too far out...
