Eclipse is known as Fujisu-Ten in some countires outside North America, Ef-Dee you are Chinese, I suppose you've heard of Fujisu-Ten in HK, China or Taiwan

Blah, overpriced and under featured. The amber lighting option matches the stock lighting in FC and FD's well though. The sound quality is excellent, but not twice is good for twice the money.

Fujisu-Ten is the company that manufactures Eclipse products, as well as Nakamichi. Nakamichi is just the higher end product line. Both are very good in my opinion.

I own an Eclipse CD5441 that's installed in my WRX. I spent many long hours listening to many decks and the Eclipse line was tip-top if you ask me. There's nothing like the clarity on those bad boys, especially 5V preout and up.
Naks are also excellent for sound quality. Unfortunately, they often times have trouble reading CD-Rs.
Clarion also makes some very fine decks - the 9675z, if I'm remembering correctly, sounds excellent.

Naks are good, but you need to look at the particular head units. They have some less expensive ones made in china that have considerably lower quality (both in sound and construction) than the Japanese made units.
My choice would be either the Japanese built Alpines or Eclipse units, as I have had considerable experience with all three.
Don't get me wrong, the Nak made by far the best cassette system, with sound almost rivaling CD, (for those that still haven't made it to the 90s) but the number of times that simple op-amps failed and it went from a 4 volt output down to a 500 Ma output was just plain annoying.
But I like decks that sound good and stay in the dash, that don't need repair, so the Alpine and Eclipse units are my choice.

Oh yeah and Spyfish, do you remember the first gen Fujuitsu (Eclipse) changer, not the one that Sony built but that first 12 disc they built...
Whooops they forgot to put in two little bars on the cartridge mechanism and if you went around a corner at the same time you were changing discs, they all unloaded from the cart...
Everyones first gen of a product needs refinement.

Yeah I've heard this too ... like you can open up the amp or deck and it says Clarion! HAHA ... this coming from a former owner of McIntosh car audio equipment ... nice but I don't think worth the price after owning them. Honestly I can't tell too much of a difference from those amps and my new JL audio amps. I think that says something about each item because the new JL amps rock, but I would never ever expect them to keep up with McIntosh.

On a different note I might be sending you some PMs to help me install my alarm on my new car -correctly.

This is all changing rather rapidly, and CD technology is getter closer and closer to replicating the sound quality of analog recordings (which are by far superior up until now).
Ultimately, it's all in the ears anyway, and Eclipse and Nak both sound great to me. I could just afford more Eclipse for the price believe it or not.

And Clarion does make some nice stuff too. The 9675 is a killer deck. Their new DXZ925 is awesome too! It's got me seriously thinking about dumping the Nak ... it might not sound quite as good, but it has a TON more features for about the same price. Although I do love how well the Nak matches my interior. Tough choice ...
