My sunday project: microfiber the center console on the FD
#28
Bought a yard of Ultrasuede from Jo-Ann's fabrics last night. I have a small sample paper clipped to a halogen light (they fade things quite quick) and another submerged in water with Windex and dish soap in it, and one control piece in a neutral place. What the results come to be will determine if I go with this material or move on to something a bit more expensive.

The fabric I used didn't have enough elasticity, so while I could stretch and compress it enough to look good for the initial install, the glue didn't stand a chance once it got hot. It still looks better than before, but I'd recommend a fabric made to be stretched over irregular surfaces.
The color held up well, but it doesn't spend much time in the sun.
