My Amp Doesn't Wanna WOrk :(
I got a 500 w amp for 2 12' Punches (i know kinda small amp). It stopped working after i made a small turn and ever since i only got it to work once more. The little red and green light shines red when i plug any rca in which usually mean im getting ernough power when green. I used a test light and am getting 13.83 amps but when i plug something in, it stops working. what could be the problem? Everything else is hooked up right and i plugged in another amp and did same thing. i used other rcas and did the same thing. Help

If i was a betting man, I would guess that you have a loose ground. The First thing that i would check is that you ground and power leads are solidly connected. A loose ground will allow the amp to power on but not to put out any wattage. If you have no loose/bad connections on power, i would try connecting your rca's up to someone elses system that is working. Have a buddy with an amp park next to you and just run your rca's to his amp. If it works then the problem lays with your amp somewhere. If it doesnt, then your head unit is crapped out. You already said that you checked your rca's, so you should be good there. good luck and always remember, the multimeter is your friend

^dido, loose ground. Not where the ground wire connects to the amp, but where the ground wire attaches to the car. IF it's solid, try a different grounding point.

The amp is in protection mode. This could be any number of problems, but 98% of the time spells disater for your amplifier. If you are getting 12v on the power wire and the ground is secure mostly means that the amp is toast. Test the sub to see if it is at it's proper ohm rating. 0 ohms would suck tons of power from the amp and overload the amp, since there is no resistance. This would be the first thing that comes to mind, since adding signal will cause the amp to drive the sub causing it to overload. It's happened to my customers many many times. I suggest what jonjonwells said, test another amp with the RCAs to properly diagnose the problem. A pinched RCA can cause the inputs to make contact internally causing the amp to say "hey, what are you tryin to pull here." A loose ground would cause the amp to turn off entirely, showing no light. Without a ground it wouldn't do a darn thing.
