Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is MAGIC!
I found a mr. clean magic eraser under my sink and i thought, i wonder if it would clean my door panels? I got it wet and started scrubbing. Using a dry cloth towel after the scrubbing. HOLY **** this thing is bad ***! Not only did it clean into the tiny grooves but it also reconditioned the panel. Before my doors matched the texture and toughnes of the rear bins. I could even scratch into the crusty door panels. The next morning i went out to my car and the texture of the door panel matched that of the dash (soft and smooth).
I wanted to share this with all of you weather you have tan, black or red panels. I wish i had taken before and after pictures but i did'nt think i would see dramitic results. My panels were a 4 at best and look a 9 now. The next day apply armor all or other protectant and your done.
I took a couple after pics of my panels. Trust me before they were ****.
suggestion of the day: Go buy one of these

That looks amazing! So it took the top layer of faded crap off basically? The eraser is basically super fine sand paper in sponge form correct? (it's abrasive) I'd be carefull to not press too hard but those are great for lots of purposes. I have one in front of me now and was looking at my windows thinking... gee would this take off water spots/stains? hmm
Also, what in the world happened to your door handle???? It's like a bear grabbed it and tried to rip the door apart lol.

Definitely can attest to this too!! I have been using the magic eraser for probably 8 years on interior plastic panels. Great for light scuffs and scrapes too! Though I have not used it on the smooth, glossy surfaces like the center black panels and smooth areas of the door. It worries me it would remove the glossy appearance.

It's not abrasive. It must be the chemicals built into it because it disolves into nothing.
It wasn'nt a bear it was a rabid silverback gopher

I have always just mixed a scoup of oxy powder with warm water in a squirt bottle and used a scrub brush. It doesn't dry out the surface or leaves any film. It doesn't take any hard rubbing and it also works great on leather. You can also spray it into the air vents and other misc difficults parts and use compressed air to blow them clean. Oxy clean has been one of my detailing secrets for years. I then follow up with Mequires Natural finish interior detailer. My interior panels look brand new!

Bingo! Magic Eraser does contain bleach so be careful when using it on non-white porous surfaces. That being said the thing is awesome, I found that when using water, less is more. Works great on white sneakers as well, keeps em looking brand new!

No its because the bright natural sunlight was shining on the doors. Look at the pictures from within the car for true color. This was the second time i used the eraser in the panels with hardcore scrubbing and absolutly no sign of bleaching. By friend has a black interior and again no bleaching just a well cleaned panel.

Almost every experienced automotive detailer has tried the Magic Eraser before. It will work great on hard plastics. It is usually used on black exterior plastic trim to get rid of wax residues because of it's abrasive and cleansing nature.
I am not sure if the panels on the FD is hard color plastice or vinyl covered plastic. Same goes with the dash. I would not use the Magic Eraser often on vinyl covered plastics because it is abrasive and the chemicals may be too strong on the dye. You wouldn't use sand paper and bleach on vinyl, right?
Also, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use the eraser on leather. All leather surfaces have a colored coating. You can say that it is the same concept as paint. The magic eraser is TOO abrasive and the chemicals are too strong. You will definitely damage your leather coating with extended use of the eraser. You can use it once or twice for removing marks (such as ink) on leather, but nothing more than that. For leather, the strongest solution I would go is original Woolite diluted with warm water and a scrub horse hair brush or towel. About 2oz of woolite mixed into a gallon of warm water will do for leather and vinyl.
edit: BTW, Magic Erasers are made from melamine resin that has been ground up and reformed and acts as a very fine sandpaper. The melamine resin functions similarly to fiberglass.

^ those are people with handicaps, not something all that humerous. I have a good friend who has an underdeveloped right forearm and hand and subsequently can not grip anything with it, so he only has one good hand and those handles on the steering wheel work great.

Point taken. However, keep in mind, I wasn't intentionally trying to make fun of anybody. There are other "uses", if you will, for these other than handicap people. I should have thought about it more, realizing what the actual use of this was for, prior to posting my comment.
