Molded DIN panel under radio
#4
I would like to know how you did that. Im working on a similar project, I have the autometer sportcomp series, with the chrome rims. Instead of having them inserted like yours are, I inserted mine from the back and glued them in the opening from the back. By doing this it looks exactly like the stock gauge cluster with just a small chrome ring. Ok, Im sure nobody understands what I just said.
It really looks great what you did, I'm using the saab panel and trying to figure out how to make it look seamless like yours. The only thing, I put it above my radio as I think it looks better that way.

I have had gauges in the same location and I think I would prefer having them in place of the radio and moving the radio down.

Yeah, the gauges take a little getting used to down there.. I've had them there so long I don't even reallize that they are in a weird spot... I guess I could always do another one in the upper spot.
I bought the SAAB DIN panel off Ebay forever ago.
I used 5 minute Epoxy to secure the panel in place from the back. On the front I used Bondo to fill the seam. Pretty simple actually. Took a few sanding/filling processes to get it right, but wasn't that hard. Primed. Sanded again. Painted with SEM texture coating.
Planning on adding a semi gloss clear to get a final finish similar to the 94's. Wish me luck!
