Maranello Style Hood for an FD

I was watching a Jap mpeg (downloaded from vosko's site-I think? ) about rx7s and it showed several jacked up models racing around a track. One of them had an aftermarket hood on it which looked like a smaller version of the ferrari 550 maranello hood. Anyone know if this is something I can buy? Or do I need to get out my english wheel, tig, and spackel knives? It was the best looking hood I've ever seen on a 7-factory look since it complimented the lines of the car. Let me guess only avail in JP at some crazy price right?

That particular one is a replica which is suppose to fit better than the original at 1/2 the cost.

I've seen the scoot hood (I think its too gaudy)
Close, but the hood I'm talking about doesn't have those gills in it. It just has the center intake. Plus a little more aggressive lines to it.

Is this what your talking about?? Because if it is i refer to this as the Viper hood rather than the maranello because Vipers got this lil slit....and Fds can be commoly referred to as the Viper Jr.

7th Heaven, I have seen that owner's website and it looks like a custom job in which he or his body shop guy integrated a viper hood scoop into his stock hood. I know www.stingerfiberglass.com sells a hood like that for the dodge avenger and it looks hot. Maybe they would know where to find a scoop like that for your hood. Check it out.

Guys, that's real Dodge Viper hood. The car owner's handle in the forum is Cypher. Do a search in the 3rd Gen forum for his name and you'll see his thread when he bought the car.

TpCpLaYa and 7th heaven,
That's very close to what I've been looking for. I'll buy the scoop and morph it in if I have too. But can we buy this hood?

The one on Cypher's car was purchased from a Dodge dealer.

that i believe would be the best way to go. gitting the scoot hood and molding the slit would be WAYY to much hassle...trust me. peopl have a damn hard time just with the scoot hood alone
