i read on a bimmer forum that the extra weight being on the transmission constantly causes the tranny to **** up over time...

I have one of these on my s2000. The quality is top-knotch and doesn't look retarded like most of the ***** posted in this thread. Clean and simple. I have the polished black one, but they have polished aluminum, brushed aluminum, textured and pistol grip designs finishes as well.
They range from $31-$39 depending on the color, and if you want it polished. They will engrave it for you for a little more as well.

Got my GReddy shift ****. Pretty cool. It's a dark/black chrome color. Weight-wise, it feels about the same at the stock ****, but it's alot shorter and compact:
In the car:
My boot doesn't quite go all the way up....
It came with three "sticky tops". Chrome on black, Chrome on silver, and black on silver
The throw feels considerably shorter now, but goin' into fifth feels a little awkward. Overall, a nice improvement over the stock ****.
