<< How about you just PM me your personal problems with me, and save the board. >>

Bill...I got a better idea. How about we just drop it altogether? If you have a problem w/ something I say, just address it directly. No need to attack my experience or knowledge. Just correct me. You'll get much better results (not to mention ppl will think I just got "OWNED" lol) So if you wanna continue it w/ no hard feelings, im more than happy to do the same.

thanx for the clarification on the KAZE-aero cars...cuz I honestly am not familiar w/ them, so I had to ask.

On that note..someone (i forget who) wanted a few shots of how the VLS doors look from the front...that website has a great front shot, and is also a great depiction of what I was talking about (how the doors open too far outward, vs. vertically and swept back) FOR ME. (my opinion).

<< Because you were wrong... it wasnt a problem with the VLS >>

You see...there's in inherent problem in this repsonse. It doesn't matter what you think you know. You HAVE to validate first. It's still irresponsible at best to reply to my point and say I'm wrong w/o validating first. You don't want people to think you answer before being sure...cuz that would lend them doubt in your replies. (and yes the same applies to me as well)

<< I thought I said if it goes out of alignment, that is correctable by aligning it. yes, it could go out of alignment. >>

Hopefully, mine doesn't have the same issue. It's put on so damn solidly, and perfectly from the right time, that all the adjustment issues Decah and VLS see w/ necessary adjustments won't be applicable to me. That's one point Dan was big on...that if you do it right the first time around, the VD kits don't need any further adjustments. And I entirely believe it's possible to make it so that it doesn't need adjustment...the stock hinges don't, now do they? (of course, only time will validate this, but as of now, Dan and I are claiming it wont need readjusting).

Finally...this isn't a challenge...it's a serious in-good-faith request. I dont think you're bound to ever agree w/ me on this, but I hope you at least understood the point I was making about the hinges' vulnerable point. And I personally just wanna know how importprecision addressed that issue, or if it was addressed at all, ie. Basically I want you to try and convince me that it's not a point of vulnerability w/ facts and details. (believe it or not, im an open-minded guy...and like i said before, i have no problem admitting it if you turn out to be right in this case or any other case. cuz it's not about saving face for me here) So just some solid detailed facts are what I'm looking for.

Lastly, I think I can deal much better w/ these shorter and more-to-the-point posts haha. Im sure you and I can both better spend our time

Let it rest........let the guy sell his product! I got a solution for you........... don't buy it! I am in the market for one and you have talked me out of the VD because your the one that sounds like a used car salesman with all your argumentitive BS! All the guy has done is defend his product that he feels is a good about.........LET IT GO!

Thanks for sharing your feelings RX7pimpin.

I'm not stopping him from selling his product...in fact you just proved that I probably helped him sell his product now since you're convinced the VD one isn't for you. So don't complain

Now if most of you guys feel my posts are useless, then by all means, let me know...cuz in that case I wont waste my or your time. My intention was to help, and if my posts aren't doing that, I might as well give it a rest...

FDNewbie,

I appreciate the info, the debate just got a little out of hand though (?).

Got any pics of the car?

Evot23, thanks for your appreciation. And yea I agree w/ you bout it getting a little outta hand...(and yea I had a lot to do w/ that lol) But I think it's gotten much more chill now

As for pics...not yet...so close, but not yet =) I was gettin a rack of things done to the car, and its in the works of gettin the final touches as we speak...

It's taken a LONG time...but Dan's a perfectionist and thus takes his time, so I dont wanna rush him...

Not complaining but you have hurt your cause with turning off buyers towards the VD.

Lets just wait and see pics, pricing of both kits and let everyone make their own minds up without all the speculation on which is better. As said in the past most of your argument is not based on fact so lets see the products and go from there.

FDnewbie,

I noticed your post in a recent thread in the NE section, and realized you were right next door in DC. What part are you in? There are some meets being discussed, but I'd like to check out your doors in person, and probably chat a bit if you'd like sometime in the future.

Here are a couple famous Gull-Wing cars.

The Mercedes 300

The Bricklin

And by the way, any minor misdescription between Lambo/scissors and the VLS systems is nothing compared to calling scissor style Gull Wings. Thats kind of like calling a Merlot a Cab, compared to calling a bottle of Grain Alcohol a bottle of water.

You know what? I had asked the same question a few months back when I saw the car...cuz I was in love w/ it too (although it's just a tad bit overdone). I tried searching for that thread, but i think it was one of the ones that got lost when the forum switched servers...

In any case, here's what I remember (correct me if im wrong ppl):
-the body kit is c-west all around (front bumper, rear bumper, and sideskirts)
-the canards on the front bumper (right in front of the front wheel) are the c-west canards
-the splitter on the bottom of the front bumper isn't an RX7 product...it looks to be a universal splitter that you can get from websites that sell products for the Dodge Viper
-the splitters/lip on the c-west sideskirts was never resolved...ppl say it looked like the feed CF lip, others said it doesnt and was prob a custom CF peice (Redline was painted on)
-the rear splitters are simply the optional attachments for the RE rear diffuser. he just chose to attach them in the same manner the front splitter was (w/ those wire thingies)
-spoiler...i have no idea (someone know?)
-the hood is scoot (origina/replica?)
-the sleek headlights I believe are also c-west...although I cant tell for sure from the angle the pic is taken
-z3 style fenders...dunno. i think they might be made by border???
-rims...you're on your own. dont know, and don't like chrome on FDs
-oh and of course, the VLS lambo doors

hope that helps

if you look at the pic closely, i think it's taken at a shell gas station...not at some exhibition. that prob. explains the corsica sittin next to the benz...

PVerdieck, I just had to thank you for posting a picture of true automotive art... man...as many times as I've seen that benz, it never fails to leave me in awe... beautiful. simply beautiful.

What are those Bricklins? Never heard of 'em...but they look awfully a lot like the old school Corvettes...

While we're at it...you wanna see some REAL custom work? I'm talkin OMG I don't even wanna BEGIN to think how much this cost...check this pic out.

It's listed as a carbon creation product.

FDNewbie, is that the same kit that is on yours? Doesn't look like the VLS.

Evot23, I checked out that website just a few days ago by accident...and I was like hmm...I wonder who makes those doors! lol

I don't think they're the same kit...you'd be surprised all of a sudden how *every* aftermarket seller wants to come out w/ their own doors...I think even VIS Racing has lambo doors on their website now...

and this is a guess, but id venture to say that they're prob makin their own kits themselves. If it's a distributor, the HAVE to say "importprecision doors" or "verticaldoors.com doors" or even "decah doors"

But you're right in one sense...no kit I've seen so far looks like or can be mistaken for the VLS kit.

Sorry I dont have anything more informative to say... I'd just email/call 'em and ask them who's kit they're using...(and I'd stay away from ones that no one we know has experience w/ obviously...)

Yea plz dont remind me. I'm gettin real annoyed...since it looks like soon enough you're gonna pull up to the gas station pump w/ your 7's lambo doors, and the neon next to you has lambo doors to...

Actually, at the last 7 meet in MD, i remember we saw a civic roll up w/ vertical doors...so in that sense it can really get to me real quick
