JDM Armrest Broke...I need a fix'n
So I the hinge part of this thing broke and it is just hangin in place by the magnet. I'm wondering how I can fix this and maintain the open/close capability. I am thinking just to use some small stainless steel hinges like you use on hobby models and stuff. Any other ideas.
If I don't use the hinges I'm gluing this thing shut so it doesn't happen again.

i just messaged you and you got off.
Either way...I found some hinges here that might work http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0093p?&C=QFE
The thing that I'm unsure about is the open/close function is a bit weird on the standard hinge
I'll post some pics up tomorrow static.
The thing is that the lid on this opens and closes with a bent guide. It has a pivot point that is held by thin plastic and covered with strip of suede. The pivot point is kind of like the way DVD cases open.
The way mine broke was that when I get in my car I sometimes throw my backpack in the passenger seat first or I get in and I try to land my elbow on the lid. When this force that pushes towards the passenger side occurs, it places horizontal stress on that hinge, forcing it to snap.
Kinda sucks that almost every plastic part from mazda that we get is a failure
But still static, they are worth the money. I love that I can store stuff in there and have something to rest my elbow on comfortably. It also makes it feel like the shifter is shorter because your arm is raised about 3/4 of an inch.

I had the same problem with the one on the door cracking in the middle. I fixed a couple of times and then realized the only thing I used it was change and the change rattle around so much it was anoying. So the last time it broke I ended up bracing the middle section and epoxing it shut. I sanded it down and painted with black bumper paint and it looks like stock. It just doesn't open. It hasn't broke since.
