Interior and lights
So the interior in my FD is a bit rough. Ill post pictures. Come monday, its getting dropped off to have the door panels, seats, and shift boot all done. I have ordered door sills too because mine are in BAD shape. By friday, i should have everything back together with pics. Im going for black leather on everything with with the seat center section perpherated. The door panels rattle too so we will be getting rid of that.
As soon as the interior is done, we are taking the car to have the WG dump plumbed back into the rest of the exhaust. I want to know what the dolphin tale sounds like... not the waste gate.
Lastly, which Im looking for input from others, I ordered new headlights. Here is the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/BI-XENON-HIGH-LO...item4150a966ef
I might have taken a chance with these so i would really like for others to let me know if they have experience with these or heard anything about them.
Thanks for input and stay tuned for pre-interior pics.

I started this thread a while ago. We started ordering parts and ripping seats and interior out and then I had to run off to Hawaii for four weeks. Here is where we stand.
Seats, door panels, shift boot, and ebrake boot are all being done in leather. Black solid on the outer portion and black perf in the middle and back. Should all be done around monday. Seats got messed up and had to have them re-sewn because perf section was not done right.
center console lid, stereo surround, instrument cluster surround, instrument cluster hood, and plastics on the doors are all out and being prepped for paint. We're going to paint them piano black with a high gloss much like many of new mazda interior parts are.
Parts i have ordered and ready to install:
new chrome instrument cluster rings and glass
door sills
HIDs (need some help finding a nice factory style H4 housing)
defroster vents
other various clips and interior plastics
Attached are pictures of everything out. Our goal is to have the car/interior look as if it were redone by Mazda today.
After the interior, the car is heading off to have the wastegate tied into the dp to quiet it down. Then, Chris Ott over at RP is going to retune us for 20lbs with a GM 3 bar map sensor. Anyone know approximately what we will make on 20 psi? Its a greddy t78 kit with the 67 turbo. On 14 psi w/ a **** poor injector drive that went out days after the tune and other horrific electrical issues to include a 2 volt draw on the fuel pump, the car still made 339. Electricals have been fixed with a new injector driver and now the car is ungodly rich. Cant hit boost at all because its so damn rich with a working injector driver. lol.
Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. Critique what you will, I take "constructive critisism" very well.

a few more followed by an engine bay. Keep in mind that factory color was red. Previous owner had it painted and rattle canned the engine. They scratched the hell out of it installing the motor after the street port.

There is a thread somewhere about any aftermarket shorty...I believe I have it bookmarked.
This for a universal hideaway: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ScY7iLL...a.html?tp=3449
or a shorty: ....and I can't find that link. Search Antenna in the 3rd gen section...he didn't start the thread but a nice shorty was posted by Theorie.

FC?...
Im still looking at antennas and head light housings. The goal is to keep the factory look of the car in all aspects except to update it as if it were a brand new car today. The piano black and leather interior should go nicely together.
I looked into the S2000 antenna and really like it yet the factory screw holes on the FD would have to be cover. I suppose we could spot weld them and paint over them when the car goes for paint but I would really like to find a more "factory" replacement antenna which at this point Im starting to believe is impossible. lol Im still all ears on headlight ideas as well.

UPDATE: more pics
So the seats are finished as well as the door panels, shift and e-brake boots, and the inrustment cluster hood. Will be posting pics tonight of those along with some other factory pieces bought to replace broken/cracked/destroyed trim.
Tomorrow we are laying paint on a few of the dash pieces and shifter surround. Now with the door panels back, we have to remove the map pocket and door handles so they can be prepped for paint as well. Here are a few pics of some of the dash pieces during sanding...

seats will be done in the morning
So we got over there and the seats werent done yet. It was too cold when he stretched the leather over the door panels so it did not stretch and hold properly. The material was pulled off of the door panels. He sewed zippers on the back side of the seat covers so they are removable. He is going to finish it all tonight and we are going to pick everything up in the morning. Here is what we have thus far.

Finished seats... almost
So the door panels are becoming an issue. The material wont stay stretched over the concave section of the door panels. We are now working an alternative for this and hopefully will be posting final pictures soon.
As for the seats, they came out great. The driver seat though had a minor error. The seat belt strap is on the wrong side. Should be fixed tomorrow but other than that, the seats look amazing.

1st coat of paint
So the door panels should be done tomorrow... hopefully. The driver seat is fixed now. We have the first coat of paint on a few of the interior panels. We still have to wet sand and hit everything with a second coat. Here is how its coming so far.

We still have more wet sanding to do. This was only the first of two solid coats before we clear coat it. I cant believe how glossy it is without clear. Its almost frightening to think about how glossy its going to be with clear on it.
The perf sections in the seats came out great. I wanted solid black on the door panels but due to the huge concave section, this was not possible. So, now we have the concave section of the panels done in perf with the rest done in solid. Should be done tomorrow and its definitely going to be interesting. We need the door panels back though because the plastic handles/arm rest sections are going to be done in piano black as well. Ill post more pics soon if we get everything back tomorrow.

The seats came out great. Be weary of the door panels though. The concave section was a pain. The leather guy couldnt get the stretchy material to stick because they are too concave. We are actually doing a loose section of perf in the concave part of the door panels. Hopefully it will give you ideas. I should be posting pics tomorrow or at least by monday or tuesday.

door panels are FUCT
So I finally got my door panels back today. I knew that the guy was having trouble with them but I didnt think he would screw them up this bad. Im going to see if we can fix them because quite frankly, I like them but you can see the areas that are messed up. I might get stuck having to pay someone else to fix them.
On the other hand, the seats are fantastic. I cant wait to get it all back together. Paint is coming down to the finished product. A few more things to prime, paint, and wet sand, and then we are good to put it all back together.
Next pics should be everything going back together.
ps. the door handles are only primed in these pics. Still going for Piano Black!
