hummm, which color to piant car?
I'm just seeing what the general rx-7 public thought of this. I'm getting my car painted next week and it's factory color is VR. Most common color as we all know but it still looks good. Since everything will be painted except some of the engine bay which will be done later next engine swap which could be a long time but I'm not worried about it, I may change color all together. I've only considered factory rx7 paint. I really like CYM, white or..... red again. Problem is my interior is tan. I'm leaning towards CYM, but I don't believe the car ever came CYM w/tan interior. At first I thought it wouldn't look good, but I've seen ferrari's with that combo plenty of times and they look bad ***. I'm sure people counting production # are not down with changeing the color but theres just to many damn VRs out there. My wheels are Blitz Type 03's in standard finish, they'll match any color so no problem there. No bodykit either. Basically is it "***" to change the color or should I stay with VR, I know it wouldn't look bad or else I wouldn't of bought it to begin with. But CYM is wow! Lets see some thoughts, thanks.

Well, I agree with you that ferarris look sexy with yellow ext and tan int.
Purists would say dont change, but In the end, it is up to you. If you want to change it, then change it. I would recommend stripping the car down to bare sahssis if ou are going to do so. Every nook would need to be sanded, prepped, and re painted to make it look like a decent job. Hoe many times have you seen a car that is two tone as soon as you remove a single piece of trim on the vehicle?
Totally up to you. It will save you a ton of money if you decide to stick with the same color oif you want to do it right, as there is less work in doing it right with the same color, thatn there is to changing it.
Hope my opinion helps.

I'm also repainting mine within the next couple of months.
I can't decide which color to go with, either black or yellow. Not CYM yellow though, I'm not really a fan of that shade of yellow. . I was thinking of corvette yellow.

well i guess a different shade of red would be a little easier. that viper red looks nice. chevy has a nice red also, believe its called victory red. decisions........... but I just can't stop thinking of cym or some variant.

Stay with red. It will look shitty unless you paint..............everything=1 gazillion bux.
There was a guy on here that stripped his car down to nothing and had his FC painted white. The body was strapped to a pallet and taken to the paint booth. That is the only way to truly change the color of a car.

I think I might be chickening out on a total change but different red sounds good. I bet fresh, new VR looks pretty good. Most of all VRs look like ***, mine included, UNLESS its already on its third or fourth paint job. Is the paint that crappy or is it just Florida.
