How to disassemble HVAC controls
I replaced my radio today and decided to test out painting the parts I removed.
I have the entire HVAC console out and I've taken the permiter screws out but it looks like the Emergency button screws need to be removed also, however the screws are under the HVAC controls!
I test painted the ash tray cover and was amazed at the difference, I want to take apart this piece so I can sand and paint the entire thing, be too tough to mask it all off.
Thanks

Answered my own question, but I'll post the answer for others to see.
There is a piece of tape and its pretty good tape, that holds a black hood over the controls themselves. Along with that is a zip tie that holds the wiring harness together.
now this doesn't sound like much, but believe me, it had me thinking I was going to break something. You pull the tape back, cut the ziptie and pull the hood off the rear of the controls.
For each control itself is a set of 2-3 small screws, one for fan, AC, emergency, blower location, etc...just unscrew all of them and it pulls apart.
