it works! i did a ghetto rig on my old rx7. i had to cut into the fenders to make room for the washers and longer bolt. if you have a 1"-2" lift in the back oyu can really feel all the hot air escaping out of the enigne bay.
quick comment on your car, just a personal thing. you car looks really really awesome, but the wheels just kill it. i think a set of bbs look-a-likes off a s4 gtu or s5 t2 would look ALOT better.
great work on the hood lift. where are you located i might want to nab a pair from you in the future.

Well Im sure not many people or even more then 20 people have this on their FC in america.
Anways why dont you try this and see if it works or not.
Then you can help me tell these people they don;t know what there talking about.I just find it funny when people have comments and really don't know how this workd to release heat under the hood..What do you think, Version?..I do find it odd also most people I believe just don't like the way it looks.now knowing the function of this.Well dosen;t the guy in the pic look happy??I guess most people are
Imagine a Cowl hood..pretty much the same affect.
do you see anybody complaining about cowl hoods??

i havent bought what your selling but i can say that it defintely works, i did it to my s13 when i had it and i remember my father ( a muscle car chevy guy ) tell me how him and his freinds used to do it to there cars when they were real young probly like 20-30 years ago to release the heat without having to buy an aftermarket hood. not a bad idea selling an easy way to do this for others.

They work
Well I am avidly working on a press release..I have spoke to many people who have tested this design in wind tunnels.Facts are they do relieve underhood tempatures by 25 degrees or more..Also adding more stability at speed.

I post is a little uncreddible for me to believe.
Perhaps if it dind't make the car look cheap, looks like you rear ended something.
Mazda spent a lot of money to design the 7 to be areodynamicly as perfect as possible to have one of the lowest air drag ratings.
If you have a patten pending on this ghetto crap maybe these are your prodects also:

Rx7 Turbo Simulator.
Thank you, that is all.

You have zero clue what you are talking about. An opening at the cowl will actually suck air IN, not vent it out (ever heard of a cowl INDUCTION hood?). This is not good for stability at speed. If you don't believe me, tape some runners to the cowl edge of the hood and go for a drive. I think you'll be surprised at how they behave.
And give us a break about the 1-poster recommendation from the Civic driver. 20 degree temp drop on the highway, hahaha. Posting comments that you can feel engine heat radiating from the opening when the car is sitting still are utterly meaningless. It doesn't have anything to do with how air is flowing when the car is moving.
Oh, and I'll agree with several others that it looks incredibly stupid.

If you werent so ignorant you would already know COWL HOODS are made to make room for larger Intake manifolds.Since stock hoods have little room for larger Intake minifolds since they are directly on top ov a v8 motor.Even on COWL hoods It lets hot air out yes without lifting the hood.So don't speak if you don't know anything about cars. Also most stock hoods on FC's rub when you have a Strut tower brace this also makes room for that..So for people who know what cowl hood induction means please feel free to tell this guy what's up.
OK read about Aerodynamics first fool.here is a link for morons like you

Your own link supports what I am saying....
Like I said, tape some yarn runners to the edge of your hood and see what they do -- gee, the guy in your link suggested the same thing. Videotape it and post the results -- I'll apologize if I'm wrong.
Put your money where your mouth is.

"Instead of having the opening on the front of the hood scoop, it was on the back. This allows the carb to pull its air from the relatively high pressure area at the base of the windshield, providing a very mild passive supercharging effect and possibly a few more horsepower."
