Question Which Hood? Should I....

I am getting a new hood and my choice is down to 3.

1. RE AD 9 Hood 6-8 weeks out
2. Knightsport Fiberglass Replica 2 weeks out
3. Scoot Fiberglass Replica not sure

I want the RE hood the most but I am not sure if I want to wait 6-8 weeks for it. The prices are not a big deal but my car is at the body shop right now and I am getting the FEED Type II replica front bumper and 99 spec lights as well as the Ab-Flug Sideskirts. Which hood do you think will look best? I need to know ASAP.

I know. And personally I first loved the Scoot hood but the more I saw it the less I liked the center scop. Then I saw the Knightsport which is a clean and simple hood which keeps the FD lines in spec. Then I saw the RE AD 9 Hood and I thought it looked like the Scoot, which I like, but without the center scopp, which I don't like, so it seems perfect for me. But it is 6-8 weeks out where the other 2 are only 2 weeks out. So my dilemna of time comes into play as well. So if I decide to wait and get what I want then cool but can I really wait that long when my stock hood looks like *** right now. Also, if I buy one of the other 2, could I ever sell that hood and buy the RE Hood later on when I don't have to drive around with a nice bodykit and a beat up old hood. So that's why I am asking. What to do? Hmmph.....

Just get what you want...

Scott -

It's probably worth the time just to wait and get what you really want. I mean, I'm almost sure the Rotary Monster will look killer with any of those hoods. But, I'd get the one you want.

Don't settle for less than what you want, just because you might have to wait a bit longer.

Also, I have known a lot of aftermarket companies to give themselves a lot of time to make deliveries. If they tell you 6-8 weeks, they have 6-8 weeks to get the hood to the customer before he/she starts to bitch...but more than likely he/she will get the hood in a couple weeks.

When I ordered the hood for my truck, I ordered it from American Sports Designs, they sell tons of hoods, and they told me that they are so busy that it could take up to 8 weeks before I get my hood.

I got my hood in 9 days.

Peace out.

Yeah, except when they say 6-8 weeks they are talking about having to get it special ordered form Japan and shipped here. Not that they are busy in the shipping dept. and it may take a while. This will take a while. The Scoot hood is out for 3 days. Which isn't bad but I don't know. God Damn Decisions!!!
I wonder how long it would take me to fly to Japan and pick one up myself and then just bring it back as my carry on?
Good Idea Scott.
Thanks Scott.

We'll see.

Just wait and get what you really want. If you want to see what the Scoot hood looks like in person then just wait til the meet OCT 5th because there will be one there for you to look at.

re hood all the way. isn't it scary thinking about in 6-8 weeks time is a high potential time for the hood to get damaged.

I have seen the Scoot hood in person but not the other two. I have been thinking about it alot and I think I am probably going to get the RE hood but I am still not sure. So for the Oct. 5th meet I will have my front end and sideskirts but no hood. Damn!! I also want my Advan wheels but going to have to wait until my single is ready to go. So maybe in December I'll get some wheels. Scott

For a big hood page, full of pics, see my site, and go to Upgrades --> Body --> Hoods.

Cheers,

Steve

ok. i see. thanks, Steve.

That's the hood i've got on order (the RE hood). I was told that they make them on a per order basis, which explains the 2mo wait. i've got just over a month to go.

I was told I could have it in 2-4 weeks from Jason at JT-Imports for $1150 shipped. Plus shipping from LA to Missouri which shoudl be around $100. That's where I am going to get it. I would go with Chuck at Rotary Extreme but the wait is too long. 6-8 weeks. That's double the time from Jason.
