The god of all HOods

The god of all HOods
This hood is the god of all hoods I have ever seen period... This hood is just so beefy and obviously functional. Appearance wise it does for the rx7 what the cowl hood does for the chevy's, and that is get the fu#% out the road when you see me comin'
Any idea of what the name is or where you could buy one? It seems like it has been around for some time. I got this off the re-amemiya site. So I'm guessing you could order it through them, somehow.
But, what's your opinion on it and do any of you possess this monster?

its made by scoot and its called a scoot hood. the original is expensive and some people have reported that it has fitment problems. chuck at rotaryextreme.com sells a replica that he claims he has fixed the problems with the hood. its also listed in rx7store.net

and obviously functional.
Fluid dynamics tells us that the "gills" should have a raised lip in front of each of them in order to create a low pressure area to draw air out of the engine bay. This design would be obviously functional, whereas the pictured hood is obviously designed for looks.

Very funny!
I read the topic and thought, "this guy doesnt know, the 'god' of all hoods, so far, is the scoot"
And there you go!
I have a CF Scoot hood and I love it.
VERY FUNCTIONAL!
The center duct was specifically engineered to take air straight to the master cylinder and abs units with no interuption in flow, or leaks of any kind.
And for the 2nd gen guy, isn't it plausable that the air under the hood is remotely LESS turbulent/less pressurized than ANY airflow outside, making you wonder if the non turbulent air would travel to the more turbulence, even with a leading lip to create a low pressure pocket, on the outside?
Saying that, next time you see a Scoot, put your hand on one of the vent beams, then put your hand on any other part of the hood. If you don't notice a HUUUGGGEEE difference, your feeling capacity has left that hand. So, your design knocking may be correct, maybe not, WE don't know, but the way it is sure as hell is OBVIOUSLY FUNCTIONAL.
I LOOOVVVVVEEEE my Scoot FD!

Because on either US or JDM Rx-7's you'll cool the ABS Unit and more importantly right below the Abs are the turbos ... and on the other side the master brake cylynder

It's retarded.
the original scoot hood wasnt meant to be a mass produced piece...more of a limited run novelty like Amemiya's AC97 Porsche kit on the FD.
Tons of knockoffs of that hood, it's about as common as the C-West front bumper now...not really an exclusive hood anymore.
Some people just want "the look" I suppose

Tons of knockoffs of that hood, it's about as common as the C-West front bumper now...not really an exclusive hood anymore, so nothing special about it.

lopedl--picture from the RE-Amemiya Gallery?
I always thought the Scoot hood was too much too, I like the look of it on the SCOOT FD, but couldnt imagine it really on any other FDs, granted some look good.
BlackR1---Agree for the most part.
