Front mounting license plate

Front mounting license plate
So my fd doesn't have the stock bumper, and the three passages on the bumper go to the oil coolers and the front mount intercooler. How is everyone that has to do a front mount mounting them? I would rather not drill holes in the front, and even though I could do a type of L bracket, it seems it would be a bit wobbly.

Honestly I hate the looks of a front plate on anything other than a 99 spec front end. I'm running the stock 93 front end with no plate. I drive all my cars without a front tag and have for years. I've only been pulled over once and it was in the RX-7 and I got a ticket. I paid it. Seems the only car cops see when I drive is the RX-7. The ticket isn't any points it's just money. If you like it without a tag up front just pay the ticket.

Well I work on base, so it gets a bit more into it, but I have heard of people just dealing with the tickets. I'd prefer and will get something, but just looking for ideas as it seems I'm either gonna have to block one of the oil coolers or half the intercooler.

These are kinda cool. When you're stopped, the plate looks normal, but when you're going over 15mph or so, the wind flips it up and out of the way of the radiator. Team Miata designed and used to sell 'em back in the day.

I've seen those as well, and although not sure how strict cops are in the area I do know that the MVA regulation states it cannot be a hinge type bracket that allows the plate to move. Has anyone using the hinged plates gotten pulled over? I saw one that swings at 50 mph which would be better than a 15 mph one.

Ending up going with this bracket, moved it to do a half and half on one of the oil coolers and the intercooler. Feels real sturdy in the bumper as well.

Nice find, I'll be using one of these once I go V-Mount. I temporarily zip-tied mine to the bumper skin and made U-brackets from a $5 zinc bar from Home Depot to support it from bending and resting against the FMIC.
