Front Dash Speaker

Hope everyone had a good and safe Thanksgiving. My front speaker located on the dash finally dry rotted and is now toast. I'm not really sure where I could get a replacement. I emailed Ray at Malloy Mazda and he said he didn't know where to get one and no Mazda dealers have them, so my question is...anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

-Nick

The dash speaker was nothing to write home about in the first place. You could cut the wires and forget it.

I already disconnected it and took it out. The problem is I have JL audio speakers all around except that one and now my audio system sounds out of wack without that little speaker so I was hoping I could replace it.....

I think your best idea, if you really want to replace it, is to buy a set (or 1) of home speakers, like a bookshelf speaker. Take it apart, and hopefully remove the speaker from the case, and install in the car. Most however just do without. Curious, do you have an aftermarket deck?

You might try a Wanted to Buy post in the 3rd gen classifieds section. Someone may have one. You never know.

True as well, but it would be a long shot. I would think most if not all of them are dry rotted by now. Speakers don't tend to last 15 years. Esp not ones, that sit where that one sits.

put in some tweeters and forget about it. If everything is "out of whack" without it then I think if you put some tweeters in it will correct it. Seriously that is a bad design to have a speaker sitting right there. It's a good idea to have the audio deflect of the window and redirected to the ears but still, terrible placement.
