Ok, Chuck at rotary extreme is hooking us up. Pricing is as follows:
5-10 buyers: $400 + shippping
11-15 buyers: $350 + shipping
16-20 buyers: $300 + shipping
At $400 I think it is a good deal so I am in, need 4 others, if we get more then that then all the better.
From what I hear all of Chuck's work is awesome, so I am pretty excited.

I wish I had had a better experience with them, they lost a lot of business they would have had from me.

People have posted photos of the diffusers on their cars and so far I have not heard any problems regarding fitment. If you have any problems, you can contact me. I don't recall I have received any emails from you. The custom support phone number is on your paypal payment page if you need to call.
If the diffuser cracked during shipping, you should have contacted the freight company and also me. If you don't say anything, I don't think anyone is going to know it cracked during shipment. Isn't it very unfair for you to say I don't take care of my customers when you never tell me about your problem??
We don't make money on shipping. You pay the freight company directly when you receive your diffuser. Sorry if you think shipping is too much but that's how much the freight company charges, not us.

You omit a lot of stuff from your story. Actually, you are not even my customer. You bought the bumper from RX7 Store. If you really spent $800 on bodywork, you could have bought another bumper already and have some change left. I wonder why you chose to do that?? I already told you to sign your name on the bumper and return it. After I get it back, I will test fit it to see if it's defective and take detail photos and email you. If you chose to spend $800 to paint it anyway, that's not my problem when I already offered you a resolution.
Regarding shipping, I already told you if the bumper does not fit after I test fit it on a car when I get a bumper back, you will receive full refund + all the shipping cost. Only if it fits, you will be paying for all the shipping cost. If the product is defective, I will pay for all the shipping. If the product is not defective, you will pay for all the shipping. What's not fair about this?

I called Chuck when the body shop should me how poor fitting the bumper was and Chuck wanted me to pay to have it shipped($150) back to him so he could check it out then pay to have another one shipped($150) back to me if he thought it was as bad as the pictures I sent him should it to be.

On the sideskirts, they are smaller than regular size sidekirts so they can be shipped via Fed Ex Ground and with a pretty small box. You are not going to pay $100 for shipping. Shipping will be at most $60 from CA to East Coast.

i personally have this diffuser installed. my buddy rob from the other forum did it in like 30 min no trimming or anything actually i think he sanded it a little. either way it was pretty straight foward, marks on the holes u have to drill then up she goes. unless u have huge *** exaust that is

Attached is a picture of my problems with fitment (sorry it’s not the best but the only one I have on my computer)
*numbers pertain to the numbers on the picture*
1. Cut out of mold incorrectly or something because there is a big gap above the exhaust.
2. Fiberglass was much too thick just under the edge and did not sit flush with the bumper, required a lot of filing. (Both sides but the pictured side much worse)
3. The corners where it wraps around the fender were both tough to get to fit, the pictured side was a pretty good fit but the other side was very thick on the fiberglass and required a lot of filing and sanding to get to fit.
4. A crack in the top coat, it doesn’t go all the way through the diffuser but it is in what I would say is the first layer of fiberglass.
To clear up a few things for chuck, I wasn’t trying to bad mouth chuck or his business. The transaction went very smoothly and everything was on scheduled time. About the shipping, I didn't mean the shipping in general that’s fine and yes the freight shipping is expensive. It was the packaging that I wasn't thrilled with. James and I had our diffusers shipped together and they were just in a box with some wrap in between the diffusers, nothing else in the box, no packaging material or anything.
If there is anything else I need to address or that isn’t clear let me know.

Well I never had any major issues with chuck's parts, and I have most of his famous ones
Scoot Hood
V-Mount IC/RAD
HID Flush Mount Lights
And then some suspension stuff I had him ship from overseas...
All in all Everything worked in the end. On more than one occasion I called him on the phone and he was very helpfull, and sent stuff out for free (HID Kit Parts) at his expense, but ground... which I didn't expect Fed-Ex
Most of the stuff I picked up locally though, and that might be part of the problem, with cracking, but not with fitment....
I'm interested chuck.... I'll call you sometime this week and we'll discuss the details....

1. There are two possibilities there. Either the worker didn't trim the diffuser correctly or the bumper has deformed over the years due to the exhaust heat. Is it possible that the worker didn't trim the diffuser correctly? I think so because everything is hand made and there is possibility of human error. It's also possible that the rear bumper has deformed over the years due to exhaust heat.
2. If I tell the worker to make the diffuser thinner, most likely it's going to crack over the years of use. It's alwasy good to make something thicker that you can trim and sand. All fiberglass parts require some final fitting if you want it to fit 100% pefectly.
3. To make sure it's strong enough, I tell the worker to use 4 oz. fiberglass. 2 oz is thin but it's probalby going to fly off when you drive at high speed. The diffuser wraps around the rear 1/4 panel. Zero tolenrance is impossible with hand made product. On something that wraps around a stock part, final sanding is most likely required.
4. From what you describe, it's probalby the top gel coat that cracked. It does not affect the rigidity. If you want to fix it, you can sand it down and fix it with bondo. On shipping, to fill up the whole bumper box with peanuts, it's going to cost about $65. Those packagin peanuts are not cheap. Please remember that I did not charge any of the buyers handling fee. That bumper box along is about $30. If you want me to fill it up with peanuts, that's going to cost $95 just for handling. The freight company I use is the cheapest one out there. I believe that the total shipping was around $110 for that big bumper box and for 2 diffusers. If you try to get a rate quote, it's going to cost you about $300. I do not make money on shipping and I alwasy have freight shipping collected and paid to the freight company directly.
The bottom line is that I will work with you if you let me know. Communication is important. You said that you didn't contact me because for the exact reason Syder JL didn't send his bumper back. First of all, what he said was totally untrue. He didn't send it back because he was afraid that the bumper does fit and he is going to pay for all the shipping. Second of all, you never contacted me and how would you know how I was giong to resolve this with you? I am sorry that I am going to lose you as a customer. Hopefully you have better experience with other vendors on you upgrade path.

I also didn't have the money at the time to pay to have the bumper shipped back to you ($150) and have the body shop charge me storage fees for having my car sitting there until you decide what you were going to do. Also if I did decide to send it back so you could test fit it and see that it didn't fit for yourself I would have just gotten my money back and not have a bumper for my car and storage fees to pay until I got another bumper shipped from some where else.
All in all I had a bad experience from RE, some people don't (glad to hear it) and I plan on purchasing parts for my FD elsewhere.
