FD seats

Does any have these seats in their rx7? Are they worth getting at the price?

I'd have to agree; they look good..but might be too tall. I'd look through some of the aftermarket seat threads and see if anybody has posted dimensions.

I've seen those on ebay. they are up in san fransisco or North Ca. They are supposed to be Bride Gias LoMax replicas. They have very good feedback from people that bought the seats. They use the Bride rails. Anyhow, it lists the dimensions, so if you can find out the dimensions on the real Bride's then you will know. I was going to get a pair myself because it looks stealthy and Bride cloth sticks out (looks good, too good). Oh, price listed is for FRP and you have to add like $200 or $300 for Carbon/Kevlar. So I think it's like $650 and you can get real Brides for $950 even though sugested is about $1450.

I actually made a post on these seats not too long ago. I bought 1 seat for $450 shipped + $150 for the bride rail. I had to wait for 3 weeks because he didnt' have the Bride bracket for the FD in stock. It's coming this Friday so I'll have a nice review on the seat.

And yes, they are Bride replicas.

i have the f1 spec type b or something like that in my daily driver (civic). its pretty comfortable and haven't had any issues with it so far. i would buy em again.. but i would go with bride or recaros for my FD

the rails that came with my seat blew and i ended up getting some mr. alex ones that are great. These seats are not fia certified though.. so for some of the racing guys.. that might be a problem.

Are authentic Bride's FIA certified and what club looks for that (NASA, SCCA)?

Risen - $450, sounds like you got the Carbon/Kevlar. Yes review and pics please. Did they include the Bride seat bracket for the $600 shipped price? Will you track your car? I am interested to find out if the LoMax will give me head room for a helmet.

I'd get one of those for my passanger seat, but it doesn't look like it'd be well suited for a drivers racing seat.

It would have to be pretty similar in weight to the stock cloth type R seats anyway, Mazda did everything they could to loose weight in the FD.

There are basically no reclineable seats FIA approved.

sloasfk - what, those are racing seats?

bigwilliwstyle - what, those are fiberglass or carbon/kevalr with aluminum?

Mahjik - Bride Gias Lomax are reclinable seats? So reclinable seats are not FIA approved? What is FIA anyhow and who uses it?

Bride's partial description of the seat:

GIAS (gai-uhs) is the new monster species full bucket seat. This new species is armed with a reclining mechanism and the Low Max system.

In looking at the FIA spec, I don't believe a reclineable seat could meet the requirements. The spec specifies specific angles for the harness strap mounts (as well as specifying side mounts for harnesses which reclineable seats do not implement).

FIA: http://www.fia.com/

Many racing organizations recognize FIA as the standards for racing safety equipment (seats, harnesses, head/neck restraints, etc). I'm not sure which standands SCCA or NASA enforce for racing, but only helmet rules (Snell) are enforced for standard HPDE.
