well i just got my rims back from my brother's car and they seem to be eating the crap out of my front fenders (when i go over the smallest dips, the tires will catch the fender lips pretty hard). I guess its time to make some fenders now so I was wondering what you guys though, should i make a widebody front fenders or should i go with just over fender lips like the panspeed type? I could always keep on rolling the lip but eventually its gonna just look weird or i could just let it get ripped to shreads. Lemmy know what you think.

I hear where you are coming from, bro! My front fenders are so bad that I tell people I have "custom-made front fender flares). The paint has chipped, my tires are shredding, etc. It's horrible, but unavoidable since I chose to have the car lowered and drive it everywhere...
If you only do the front flares, won't the back look kinda empty? What I think 'might' work better is to just make/buy a fender like the FEED fiberglass one. Since it doesn't have the part which holds the underliner, it shouldn't rub as much, if any.
*People in parking lots all stare at me when I rub the fender going into shopping centers

Yeah, I did that to the fender, but it owuld eventually flip back out
I wish I had either bought them new so I could have picked the offset or not have lowered the car as much. I run Eibachs/tokico's. I'll post some pics of my custom flares later today

I had a body shop do it and then repaint the rolled lip with a chip guard that is similar to the area that goes 1/5 of the way up the door, then clear coat it. turned out really good and no chips or bend back.

yeah, i kinda want to try the rolling/repainting thing.... but with my offsets and everything, I think the only option for me is to completely shave it off.
Skunks, if you do make some fenders, be sure to post some pics. I might need some by then

My Volk SE37A wheels are 18x8.5 in the front, running 235/40's. I was told that the offset was +40. I believe I read the 'proper' offset is ~ +37, but I also think that enough driving will eventually do this (sorta like scuffing the front lip).
I could easily keep this from happening again if only I could bring myself to raise the front just a bit, but haven't done so yet.

Just lowered my car with tein coilovers about 2.5 inches and was rubbing all 4 corners. 18x8.5 and 18x10. Was planning to roll the fenders, but had a friend that did it and started to crack the paint so, decided to cut the inner fenders about 1/4 inch and no rub at all and no crack paint. Took awhile to do but way worth it!

Absolutely
I plan on changing to that size when these tires wear out more, or the next rain season starts (whichever comes first). I WAS planning on doing all 4 at the same time, but just the backs were $468!
These were the tires that came with the car. I made the mistake of not asking for the specific offset when I bought them. That was my bad.
On the bright side.... no more rubbing
