FB Audio Suggestions?
Ok, so I've got my motor pretty lined out, and ready to start the interior. I have all the wiring and equipment for a bad *** system, but I just can't decide on the placement/configuration in the car. Here's what I have.
Eclipse CD head unit w/8v preamp outs only
Rockford Fosgate Omni-Fi Mp3 hard drive system w wi-fi
Rockford Fosgate Punch 450/4 amp
Rockford Fosgate Punch 350/1 amp
Rockford Fosgate stiffening cap
Rockford Fosgate Matrix rca's
Pair Rockford Fosgate 10" 2ohm SVC subs
2 pair Rockford Fosgate 5 1/2" (twin drive) component speakers (these have 2 removable tweeters so they can be used as coaxial w/twin tweets, coaxial with remote tweet, or component with two tweets)
I know I'll have to do some fiberglass fabbing no matter what route I go, but I'm pretty good at that so enclosures aren't an issue.
WOOFER PLACEMENT- well subs are always the issue, where to put them to maximise sound and utilize space. The way I see it there are 3 viable options here.
1. use the spare recess and take advantage of the "extra" volume.
2. in enclosures at stock rear apeaker location. (behind fender wells)
3. in enclosure at hatchback rear
REAR SPEAKERS- These aren't too much problem as they can be put into enclosures and mounted at stock location, up on the pillar in front of "side" windows, at rear panel etc.
FRONT SPEAKERS- This is where the fun begins. Where to put the fronts?
1. in the doors? (this would mean added expense and work as the wouldn't fit unless I went to power windows to free the handle area)
2. Kick panels? There doesn't seem to be room here even if you move some stuff and find a way to relocate the hood latch.
3. In the back side of the console? Looks like there may be just enough room, but the enclosure would be a bitch to fab without pulling the dash etc.
So, my quest begins! How to install a quality sound system in limited space and retain good sound and comfort. All suggestions/ideas welcome! I'm not married to any specific ideas yet, just don't want to start the immense work on this till I'm happy with the "plan".

Ok, with all these helpful suggestions, I wasn't sure which to choose. LOL So, I bought another pair of speakers for the stock front location. 4" RF "Punch" coaxials. So I'll be mounting those in the stock kick panels spots. I've decided to fab a fiberglass rear section and just do away with storage space/spare tire. So I'll be mounting 4 mids and 8 tweeters in the hatch area and the subs in the rear fender wells, amps and caps recessed into flooring and the hard drive mounted center behind the seats.

I had a system using two 10's in a ported bod in place of the rear storage bins. got over 3CF usable volume with room on either side of the box to hide my amps... without loosing seat space much beyond the full recline position.
used a plate to mount rear speakers (5.25) pointed up toward the rear side windows - much better than the stock location since it wouldn't be blocked by the box, and is pretty close (distance wise) to your ear compared with the front speakers.
Send a message if you'd like to see pics of component location - or buy the box - haven't found a good home for it yet.

Ray when I installed my system I built a box that fit under my storage bin. I used all the stock speaker locations except for the sub. I mounted my amp under the other storage bin. Kept my interior looking bonestock.
