Electrical Speaker problem.

I have installed new rear speakers and a subfoor/amp in my FC. Everything worked great for about 1 year. Then the rear left speaker started to "buzz." I thought I blew it but that wasn't the case. So I just disconnected and thought I had a faulty speaker on my hands. A couple weeks later I reconnected the speaker and there was no buzz. I was stoked. Then the other day I turned the car on and the buzz was back. THis time I tested to see if it was the speaker. It turned out it wasn't. Does anyone know what my problem is? Or does anyone have a solution?

To test, replace the speaker with another known working one to test if the problem is the speaker voice coil or a speaker short.

Yea I did that, guess I wasn't clear. What ever the problem is it is in the electrical system of the car. Like you said might be a short. Do you have any idea how to fix it. It goes away everyone once in a while so I though to wires where touching but couldn't find any.

BTW thanks for posting.

Yeah you were clear I just didn't comprehend well

anyway... tell me more about your system, if you swap amp inputs does the buzz switch sides??? if you doesn't try swaping amp outputs...

If neither changes the side that the buzz is on, then re-route the wire... its picking up radiated noise.

If swaping the sides on either the inputs or outputs also swaps the side the buzz is on, which one does??

The speakers are not hooked up to an amp. The subwoofer is the only thing hooked up to the amp. The speakers are hooker to some bass blockers and then they are hooked to the stock connectors.

Since it is in the wiring somewhere I would guess you need to pull the head unit out and check the wiring on the back of it.
